I played the fourth installment of Heroes of Might and Magic right after it was released, and I remember that the balance was terrible. Djinns were much stronger than Nagas, Vampires were much stronger than Poisonous Horrors, and there wasn't always a good alternative when building up a couple of units. Recently, I decided to play the Equilibris mod because it improves the balance. Everything is good, but some of the text is neither in Russian nor in English; it's just gibberish. You can still play, but I have one problem: I can't understand what one of the skills in the Nobility skill tree does. I remember there used to be four skills: Nobility for increasing army growth, Treasurer for increasing gold income, Miner for increasing resource income (besides gold), and Diplomat. Now, Miner has been removed, and the hero receives additional resources by leveling up the Treasurer skill. Instead of Miner, there's some kind of wheel icon. So, my question is, what does the new skill in the Nobility skill tree do in the Equilibris mod?
It seems like this is a logistics skill that allows you to speed up slow units in an army, reducing the gap between fast units and thus "averaging" the movement range of the slowest units. In general, it's needed so that slow units like dwarves and halflings don't slow down the army too much, but ultimately it's much weaker than pathfinding. However, if you upgrade both skills, the movement range should be very long. And as can be seen from the description, logistics is useless if the army consists only of fast units, like phoenixes. And mining and treasury have now been merged into one skill.
*These changes are only in version Equi 3.60; in the old version, Nobility is more balanced.
Thank you, I spent a long time looking for a place to download EQII, and when I finally downloaded some version, even if it wasn't the most balanced, I was glad that I could play it; it's really much better than the original.
