The brave Henry volunteered to fly over the mysterious vortex in the center of the river. Unfortunately, it took Kalimor three attempts to lift Henry, and he hadn't even had breakfast yet (-3 charges of level III).
Once above the whirlpool, the mercenary notices nothing unusual. The whirlpool looks like an ordinary whirlpool.

Why does it only pass on the third try? I automatically pass the check because of my damage output. I need to pass a check from level 1-120, but my damage is already 130+.

No, the check is passed in any case, even if the level is insufficient, and the damage can be 1000 or more. The higher the damage, the greater the chance of passing.

- There's some kind of kraken at the bottom. It's drinking. Or maybe a magical pocket fell into the water. Or it's a gateway to the hellish abyss... These peasants are always looking for trouble. We can't do anything here, - Dorobo muttered to himself, watching the acrobatic performance above the river.

Nikta picks up a branch, throws it closer to the whirlpool, and listens carefully.
А, вот почему.

But now, at least, group levitation is active until the end of the game day, right?

No, the check still happens, and if the level is not high enough, even if the damage is 1000, it might fail. The higher the damage, the higher the chance of success.
That's what I'm talking about. The rules state:
Author
difficulty check = simple attack damage against the value specified in the level table
So, in theory, it should be 132 against 1-120. I don't quite understand how it can fail if there's no fixed chance of failure, and I just need to exceed the resulting value with my damage. Or is it all calculated using some secret formula that isn't mentioned in the rules?

Morning
- Some kind of kraken is lurking at the bottom. Drinking. Or a magical pocket fell into the water. Or a gate to the hellish abyss... These peasants are always looking for trouble. We can't do anything here, - Dorobo muttered to himself, watching the acrobatic performance over the river.

After thinking about these words, he took out a pencil stub and a piece of paper, and scribbled a message into a vibration pocket for his superiors:

"The southwestern bridge is destroyed, the suspect is a cyclops. He disappeared into the western forests, and will probably cause more trouble. The peasants are poor and couldn't afford our services; they said to ask the mayor. No other oddities were found.
Reunited with Gamma squad, checking out the strange whirlpool on the river to the northwest. The situation is unclear. We will probably head to the rendezvous point after this.

Delta Squad"

No. Each new levitation requires a new check and consumes mana. But you can keep Henry in the air until the end of the day.

I explained it poorly. The check is from 1 to 132, against 1 to 120. All checks work this way.

-- Just as I thought...
"You weren't thinking anything, Henry, you weren't thinking anything..."
"Am I imagining things, or are you all annoyed with me for some reason, why are you being so annoying?"
A branch from Nikta landed next to Henry.
-- And now they're throwing things at me too, -- he muttered.
-- Kal, get it, -- he said to the sword. -- You have levitation, it's powerful, theoretically you could pull something out of the water, right?

Nikta picks up a branch, throws it closer to the whirlpool, and listens carefully.
The branch is quickly sucked in. Soon, Nikta hears the approaching sound of something large, as well as sounds resembling growls.

It's clear that, as Nikta mentioned, we'll need to quickly pull Henry upwards.

Realizing that the thread wasn't included in Henry, Nikta draws conclusions from what she heard.
А, вот почему.
