Mission 5 — The Darkness Gathers
- Lore-wise, we're pursuing Menilag who stole the runes right from under our noses, and we use a portal to chase after him, but since Andrias isn't skilled with portals, he ends up who knows where. No matter — a local priest tells us there's a local mage city, saying go there and find out...
Which is exactly what we do — we arrive at the city and think we'll talk things out peacefully, but that's not what happens. The mage gets aggroed, and on top of all that "goodness," he even summons demons — what a little bastard. Andrias vs Faiz But that would be fine, except these guys use demonic magic and steal XP (similar to Zehir's army stealing or city teleportation)... It doesn't seem critical, but it dumped the mentorship that was needed to make good cockroaches. Oh well. Of course, you can replay the map and get a different outcome, but it's fine — let's move on.
Consequently, another quest appeared — to find a way to protect against this magic. But here everything is simple enough. We find a prophet who tells us we need a scroll (which, roughly speaking, is at the starting location) and something else, but I just took the scroll and that was enough — he taught us how to fight against it...
At first, questions arose — namely, fairly strong mages plus warlocks (and what are they doing here anyway?) were a bit annoying at first (especially the League, which chokes with a single cast), and they keep coming through the portal, not letting us stretch our legs much. But after some running around and playing cat and mouse, we get the desired results... The battles against various folks here...

Andrias vs Vayshan
I was pleasantly surprised by a small but nice bonus in the underground — namely, a good stack of Squires and a portal with +3 levels. Although the main character couldn't get there quickly, still, I'm glad I grabbed the Forgotten Hero's Armor from there, which helped quite a bit)
Overall, I tried to move through the map more or less systematically — namely, I dealt with the mages first, then took out the League (although that wasn't really necessary as I understand it).
Overall, there were two, let's say, "difficult battles" — one was against the League's second castle where Yrbeth is
And of course Menilag himself, although the fight against Yrbeth was more painful (you can get a little preview of what awaits us at the end)
And if we're talking about the ideal scenario — if there were no border guards and the keykeeper who's only at the League's castle, we could have gone straight to try and take out the mage, but no...
About Yrbeth — I actually didn't understand something. "Armor of the Dwarven Kings" blocks the ability to cast Implosion, but Yrbeth didn't care about that at all. How does that work? Anti-magic doesn't help either. Yes, I understand the League has Unstoppable Magic, but with full damage... that raised questions... But nevertheless, I managed to take her out in a couple of tries (both victorious — one with bigger losses, one with smaller)

Andrias vs Yrbeth (2)
As I said earlier, right next to the castle there's the keykeeper — we take the key, assemble the army, and go put out Menilag)
He seems like a serious guy, at first glance — although he didn't have an eagle, he probably has the central perk since he has the Master of Machines ability... What I DIDN'T LIKE is that no matter how many tries I did, he still takes control of the BALLISTA, and since we're, roughly speaking, specialists in that matter, it nerfs the hero quite a bit (although it didn't cause any problems, still). Here everything is simple — kill him faster, fewer demons he summons, and all good) I left the log because I stupidly forgot to visit the mentor before the finale)
Andrias vs Menilag
After defeating Menilag, we return the elemental runes, and they run off — and that seems to be it, or maybe not?...
Well then, let me sum up the campaign as a whole. Everything is great, I liked everything — the green troops are imbalanced in my opinion (although in the last mission I didn't take Elrath's Archangels). Everything looks logical, plays through fine, and overall there are no complaints. Though the final mission, in my opinion, isn't as good as the previous ones, and there's no "wow" ending. Like, we returned the spheres and that's it, but there's a hint that we should dive into the unknown... Overall, I had a great time and I'll play through the last scenario of this chain, and then I'll probably take a break from Haven because there's just too much of it already))
And a small bonus — if you overlevel the hero a bit and take a bit of extra army (although overall it's not necessary), but it's doable, so if you want to win with relatively small losses, here's how it turned out for me...
Bonus battle with Menilag
P.s. Maybe someone will need it, or someone will want to fight with that crazy army assembled in mission 4 — here are all the saves from missions 1 through 5
