It's time to talk about my second hobby. Even before I started my journey as a mapmaker, I became very passionate about creating various miniature figures out of plasticine. Today I'd like to show you my latest work: Archangel Michael from "Heroes 6".
Creating this model took about a week. I've tried several times before to make a quality miniature of this character (that was a few years ago). And on the third attempt, I managed to bring the original concept to life.
Some details from the original 3D model were deliberately omitted to avoid overloading the look.
The wings are the most complex part of the model. To prevent them from being too heavy, each of the 4 wings is made of two thin pieces onto which smaller feathers are attached. This reduced their weight by roughly 1.5 times.
But even that wasn't enough for the model's balance. So the sword was also slightly weighted down.

The miniature itself was based on two references: the Archangel model from the game and his collectible sculpture made to celebrate the game's release (the slightly different color scheme comes specifically from that sculpture).
From the Heroes of Might and Magic series, I have almost no works. And this is the first successful miniature in terms of craftsmanship based on this game series.
