^ I don't remember either. But I was supposed to report on everything in the thread, if needed. Meanwhile... The coolest saga about soap in history. And, if I'm being serious, it's a good popular science thing in my opinion. The gradual construction of increasingly complex things by the main character, his way of solving the problems and tasks that arise... It looks quite beautiful. It's a bit naive with all these pompous phrases about the "kingdom of science," but it's still positive and inspiring. It seems that, despite the post-apocalyptic theme. The female faces are drawn strangely for the most part, which is, of course, a minus... I gave the first season an 8/10 for the slight drag in the second half and a 9/10 to the second, because it's just amazing.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Train Arc

The humor at the very, very beginning landed well, and the yellow guy was fun — I liked his mannerisms right away. What followed was roughly what I expected from this film: the old shonen formula, which without the extra buildup of 1000 episodes works noticeably worse (ironically, I doubt I'd even start something that long at this point in my life), but the scenes where Tanjiro lets his own blood are fine... Like it fit the mood of the topic. And the final part was great — I really liked the philosophical aspect of the duel between Kyojuro and the demonic guy.

By the way, it took me three days or even more to watch it, which I think says a lot about the length of my attention span...

Not quite what I expected based on the light novel art I had seen before the anime came out, but I still enjoyed it – although it's a shame that I watched it while in a bad physical and mental state, which negatively impacted my experience. There's still something romantic about anime stories about soldiers; they are brutal and hopeless, but not devoid of camaraderie and glimpses of hope for something good.

Yes, we watched it around the same time. I completely agree with your opinion; it's heartwarming, nostalgic, and scary – a good anti-war series.

Paprika (2006)

I only found two reviews of this anime from Hévéchan, and both are roughly in the style of "Haha, it's like Nolan's Inception, only even more nonsensical)))". I can't agree with that assessment. Although the anime does use surreal imagery, it's justified by the plot, as correctly noted, because the setting is similar to Inception, in that most of what happens also takes place inside dreams. But even the surreal elements that occur in the dreams mostly have a fairly clear narrative explanation, whether it's images that are somehow connected to the character's past and their subconscious thoughts, or simply a frightening nightmare sent by bad people. I liked the music, the imagery, the animation, the art style, the concept, and, of course, the fact that the dreams here really look like dreams, that is, as a set of bizarre and loosely connected events, unlike the aforementioned Nolan. I didn't like the climax, the resolution, and the fact that one of the positive male characters ended up without a girlfriend. Overall, it's pretty cool.

I agree, the movie is very good and is on the list of anime that can be shown to people who usually avoid Japanese animation. If you liked it, I can also recommend Mousou Dairinin by the same director. It's not a movie, but a full-fledged series of 13 episodes. I think I even have a review for it somewhere here.

I don't remember how I rated Paprika back then, but if anything, I usually don't mind (or even enjoy) something that's a bit absurd or over-the-top, so it's strange if I gave it a negative rating...

I looked it up. Generally, yes, with the caveat that the review was positive, and the comment about it being nonsensical was phrased as "why not?"... So, I should have double-checked everything.
