I can recommend Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka. It's not animated.
This isn't anime ;) Although Russian Pokémon is awesome :) In general, I really like the anime art style. I haven't watched the series myself, but I've seen a few full-length films that I really enjoyed. What I don't like about anime is the abundance of yaoi and yuri, in my opinion (I might be wrong, so I apologize if I am). It's not that I'm against such relationships; people should like what they like, but there shouldn't be so much of it. It would be better to have more normal love, and even better – beautiful heroes and monsters, more intrigue, magic, and artifacts :)
I haven't really watched much anime. I can't praise or criticize it.

Anime?...To be honest, it's nonsense. Just stupid emotions. I used to be obsessed with Pokémon in the first grade, that was cool. But now...Although, it's a matter of taste, I personally don't like it.
Even as a child, when I saw those ridiculous cartoons with absolutely crudely drawn characters (one half of the face has an eye, almost no mouth in a normal state, and a huge mouth on the remaining half of the face when the character screams) + 10 fps – I didn't understand why it was even needed... I thought the Japanese were lazy and didn't want to draw many frames per second.))) And now, it turns out, it has a name... In principle, I have nothing against those who watch it, because this phenomenon is temporary and will pass with age, as the addiction to youth subcultures should pass (in theory). Meggot, you're wrong. This is purely your subjective view on anime. I don't like anime either, but I don't shout it from the rooftops. Maybe I don't like all the "nya" and "kawaii" either? Again, I don't shout it out. And I don't laugh. I also don't like stupid grammatical errors that make it difficult to read a message. How surprising! Very interesting. Two drawn characters love each other, one of them is dying, and the other starts to cry. What emotions! I repeat, you can't really show this in a drawing. And besides, in real life, there are real, not drawn people.
In principle, the idea is that anime shows what should happen in real life, only transferred into animation... Although it's a very strange animation, people like it. I remember watching anime in the 90s, usually in the evening or at night. I watched Gaiva and other cool anime (and we watched Pokémon as kids)... Overall, I have a mostly positive attitude towards anime, as the plots are sometimes better than in movies.
I prefer more serious anime; I think "Death Note" and "Elfen Lied" are the best.
Right now, I'm waiting for the continuation of "Soul Eater: Zero." I really liked the anime; in the very first episode, all the main characters were killed, which intrigued me.
Anyway, anime will always find its audience.
