I haven't read the original novel, but in any case, it's a good, beautifully made film. It surprises and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Death by Snoo-Snoo with Robots
This collection of short films was quite popular at the time, and I initially didn't want to watch it, even though my friends from the creative chat group highly recommended it and practically forced me to watch it. But after a long time, I decided to give it a try (here should be a picture of Slowpoke).
I'll give a brief impression of each short film separately, without any pluses or minuses.
About underground monster fights: a movie for mommy's feminists. Evil men, a poor girl who is very brutal, a little bit of lesbianism, everything is "for adults" and so on. The monster design is very cool, but otherwise it's mostly tailored to its target audience, and I didn't like it. 3/10.
About three robots: very cool, funny, interesting, and not pointless. I would gladly watch more about these guys, but alas. 9/10.
About the witness to a murder: some kind of arthouse, I've never watched arthouse movies, but this is definitely it. It tries to seem profound, but in reality, half of the screen time shows us a BDSM club (not that it's something bad) and a naked woman with an unshaven pubic area. So-so, 1/10.
About rednecks in mechs: I don't like the genre, but the setting is quite interesting, and I would like to know more - at least the backstory. + the graphics are like a game, I might play it a little. Very good, but still not quite my thing. 7/10.
About Dracula on steroids: well, just an action movie. Good, but pointless. It's good for watching with a beer. 6/10.
About yogurt: it feels a little unfinished, I think. The idea is normal, but it should have been developed more tastily (ha-ha). 7/10.
About lost astronauts: it's in my style, I really like it. Although it's still too creepy - I prefer more light and optimistic things. But as a random short film with random characters, it's great. 9/10.
About the steampunk kitsune: excellent in all respects, it's practically begging for a full-fledged series, the theme is very fertile, the setting is amazing, you can turn it in any direction, it's incredibly delicious. 9/10.
About the old man in the junkyard: cool, but somehow weak and dirty. 4/10.
About werewolves: good, but not wow, it's okay to watch with a beer. 6/10.
About the astronaut: brutal, of course, but not very impressive. 5/10.
About the fish: aesthetically pleasing and pleasant overall, but somehow strange. 6/10.
I'll watch the rest tomorrow and give an overall impression.
