-- So, are we going?
-- So, are we going?
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
Anelotta strongly resisted the idea of going into the forest, but eventually gave in and went along with everyone else. Once in the forest, Ely suggested they "have a shooting match." To everyone's surprise, it turned out that the bullets were all live rounds.
A rather peculiar drawing was hung on the door of the club room, which might have made Parfinora wonder if she should even go inside...
Latro sat on a stool, legs spread, one of which he was tapping, and with his arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed, and eyes half-closed. It turned out that inventing something new from scratch wasn't such an easy task. The choice of element for the experiment was obvious - water, because his standard amplifier didn't have any applications on the battlefield under that slot. Opening one eye, he noticed that the president was already tinkering with some kind of contraption - one couldn't expect anything less from Dark. Another young man was listlessly flipping through a manual, and yet another was staring into space, with his mouth slightly open and barely blinking. Deciding to set a positive example for them, Latro jumped up, whirled around to the box of parts, rummaged through it again, grabbed a handful of random bits and pieces, and dumped them with a crash onto the workbench next to the president's. Stretching his hands, fingers, neck, and shoulder girdle, he slapped himself hard on both cheeks and began to tinker with the metal. For starters, he decided to try something obvious - to create an amplifier that would provide the restoration of damaged body tissues directly in battle.
- Rain! - he proclaimed, raising a finger in the air. This was the working title for the first prototype; it seemed very logical to him.
Xenomia seemed to fade away for a moment. "She must have had a really tough childhood... Growing up as an orphan, on the streets, surrounded by aggressive people... And the only joy she could find was in weapons, which probably gave her some kind of protection and confidence... It's not surprising that she sometimes has trouble understanding what's right and what's wrong. It's my duty as a friend to help her, to guide her... She's really kind, Eli, and good, she saved my life. I'm sure that with time, she'll open up and become completely different."
Xenomia approaches Eli and gently puts her arm around her, saying in a voice that only she can hear:
"Listen, your idea... well... I think it makes sense... You were counting on us having two medics here, you and Selena, so we can let loose and go all out, right? To gain maximum experience! Just understand that most people won't understand this, and I myself won't be able to shoot at you because of my secret, which you know... And besides, it could still be dangerous, Eli. What if you or someone else... gets injured too badly and I can't save you?! Have you thought about how many real wars, bloody battles, with bullets flying everywhere, with shells, with real enemies who want our death, we'll miss? How many experiences will become inaccessible to us if we make a mistake now!"
"And... maybe you'll listen to my idea? We can simulate military exercises, like in national and school Competitive events! It's much more interesting than just standing opposite each other and shooting, like at a target, right? Remember how great it was back then? Let's ask swift Bert to run and get the gear and do it right now, and then again and again, it will be our lifestyle! What do you say, Eli?"
