I started drawing yesterday evening, and after dozens of cups of coffee and hundreds of songs listened to, I finally finished it. That is, I didn't sleep, didn't do anything else, and only took breaks for food. Of course, there were some mistakes, but I really enjoyed the process. It has been a long time since I was so engrossed in something. I liked watching how the picture seemed to come alive with each passing hour.

Yes, there is such an effect, and it’s amazing. Especially when you have screenshots from the early stages of the process, and you can click through them and see how a bunch of incomprehensible lines come to life before your eyes.

Usually, what happens is that if something moves past the sketch-lineart stage, when I look at the final result, I come to the conclusion that the sketch-lineart was better.

I solved this problem completely; my sketches are as terrible as physically possible.

If I were drawing this scene, I would do the opposite: show noble knights in shining armor marching to fight chthonic monsters. One has a huge, bloody trunk, and the other monster is covered in something and tangled in ropes. And one of the knights shouts, "Hurry, my trap won't hold it for long!" Unfortunately, the warriors were not destined to survive that day; they died fighting so that humanity could sleep peacefully at night (without buzzing in their ears).

Since the face and hair were the weakest parts in the previous attempt, and the lack of shadows also affected it, this time I decided to focus on these aspects and chose the simplest angle for such a task.
I was slightly overwhelmed by the shadows. I decided to add them intuitively, and when I zoomed out after the first attempt, I was very surprised by what I saw. It seems that even though it was done superficially (i.e., without the necessary knowledge and technique), the drawing became much more lively.
Strangely enough, the most interesting element turned out to be the lips. At first, I couldn't draw them as I wanted, so I gave up and just left a thick straight line there. Then, when I was almost finished, I had an idea and erased the old line, only leaving the tips untouched. After that, I added the lower lip, shaded it, and was immediately pleasantly surprised.
I liked how the eyes turned out, but I copied the outer contours from a guide + due to the angle, it was easy to place them on the face; otherwise, it would hardly have been possible to do it so neatly. But I am already getting better at creating the details inside the eyes.

In my opinion, the easiest one is the profile. You don't need to worry about symmetry. And the worst one is 3/4. Even though I draw it most often and already do it on autopilot. It turned out well, by the way. You're improving quickly!
