In general, many things on the map are multiplied by the difficulty level.
AstralLein, what tactic do you recommend? Maybe I should just give up!
I don't know, I reinstalled the game, created a new profile - it's still the same. It's some kind of nonsense.
vadim_t, leave only one map in the maps folder - The Necromancer's Path - it should help.
Unfortunately, I have no idea. The map is perfectly functional. All these problems are quite surprising to me.
atlant108: That was the first thing I did – I always keep 1, maximum 2 maps.
I'm playing as Haven. In the 2nd week, I checked the Rogue's Guild to see my opponents. The blue player has stats of 20 and has Angels and Knights, plus 2 castles. If he comes now, hiding in the castle won't help. And if he doesn't come, his army grows much faster. The other opponent, even though he only has 1 castle, is also much stronger.

Did you complete the RedHeavenHero map "Echo of the Void" as Haven?
What I do remember is "Blind Faith". It was really tough! But I managed to complete it thanks to my gaming strategy and combat tactics in the city. Plus, a bit of luck.
AstralLein, I asked you for advice on how to proceed: should I rush forward or wait in the castle, which skills should I develop, etc.?
For example, here's one option: take Kaspar, develop him to the maximum, and hide the main hero. Then, engage in battle in the city.

There is a good reason for this, due to his specialization. Since Giovanni relies on the strength of stone spikes and raising the dead.

And a reasonably developed Zoltan can block them.

The essence of the map is this: besides Arantir, you need another hero! Giovanni is difficult to defeat as a player, so to attack the blue player, someone must protect the capital from the vampire. The vampire is especially dangerous at the beginning of the game, and until there are two stable armies, he can always defeat the player. Giovanni usually appears at the beginning of the second month, and then regularly. His main strength: stone spikes and raising the dead. He counters summoning elementals and phoenixes. He has numerous troops.
The blue player is led by two heroes: Lorenzo and the renamed Kurak. He has human and orcish cities that are far from each other. They are strong heroes, but their armies do not have a bonus to numbers, unlike Giovanni's army. He can only attack the player starting from turn 30, and then everything depends on him.
Nuances: Giovanni's attacks can be temporarily stopped with an additional quest for Arantir's experience.

In principle, the general concept is this: defend against Giovanni (and Lorenzo), organize the defense of the capital, eliminate the human part of the blue player, if desired, eliminate the orcish part, finally trap Giovanni with a second hero (or through a quest), defeat the boss and the main hero of the blue player, and win.
This is a very brief summary.
I don't understand: I downloaded a map, placed it in the maps folder, and when I try to select the map name to start the game, Heroes crashes. Version 3.1, licensed, no mods, all saves deleted...
Set the "image quality" to "high" in the video settings.
Thank you for the scenario! I really liked it.
You're welcome! How did the battle with Vessel go?

Yes! Thank you, it works now!
All's well that ends well.
You're welcome! How did the battle with Vessel go?
I didn't save. The battle was quite simple, with Darkness and Phoenix.

That's strange... I understand the Phoenix, but Darkness... Vessel eventually puts the vampire on the main stacks. Oh well, it's hard to understand without a replay;)
Thanks for the walkthrough!
