Could you clarify? Are you sure that Perpolken has a war with the Elves on days 1-2-6? This is not a mistake.
I have a battle with the Elves on the eighth day, that is, 1-2-1.

I don't think so :) I looked at his profile - he has only 9 posts. He's not very talkative. But still, let's ask him to come here and chat about the walkthrough of this map. Especially since he went through the whole topic and didn't find a post from him about this tournament. But he was on the list, as far as I can tell. So I conclude that he sent his application in a private message to Kyle. So maybe you can introduce us to him and invite him here to chat about the walkthrough?
I only know that he only plays Heroes of Might and Magic III! By the way, as we can see, he's doing quite well :D
I have a battle against the Elves, by the way, on the eighth day, that is, 1-2-1.
:) And I won't say anything yet. Kamikaze;109701
I only know that he only plays the third game! By the way, as we can see, he's doing quite well :D
It seems he also did well in other tournaments. But I don't see any reports from him or even his participation in discussions. And I would like to discuss walkthroughs here so that everyone can participate and ask questions to the leader, like it was after the 4th stage of the Kanigem tournament.
to IronAxe: yes, there is a description available… and regarding the application for the tournament, please see this topic: CONCEPT FOR IMPLEMENTING GRAILS ON THE FORUM!, specifically messages No. 53 and No. 55. And I am waiting for your walkthrough description… Kamikaze;109701
I only know that he plays Heroes III! By the way, as we can see, he's doing quite well :D
By the way, it was his idea to organize a BLITZ TOURNAMENT. ;)
Yes, he stood out a couple of times even in Blitz, but when was the last time he entered the portal? He has some interesting principles: he comes, he wins, and without saying anything to anyone, he leaves. I would also like to discuss a couple of things with him.
Hello everyone!
As you can see, I don't really like writing (only 7 messages sent), I prefer playing.
Finally, I got lucky! In many ways, because Dmitry AS and Radik didn't participate, which is a pity! In their company, I would have been happy to take 3rd place. Although, even without them, a strong group gathered! For the first time, I went in the right direction and didn't miss anything important (as in the first tournament, I missed 3333 monks!).
I first played through this map completely (to find out: where what magic is, what is sold in the markets, and who guards what). The map is great; you could come up with another quest for it – to kill the Black Dragon (against the clock).
I concluded that the Black Dragon is not a very profitable endeavor (240k, but it requires a lot of effort); it can be killed in two ways:
1. Long (about 3 months) – develop a Necromancer and create a large army of Liches!
2. Faster (no more than 2 months) – raise a large army of Harpies, buy a speed amulet (in the upper left market), and have a lot of magic (get the Utopia that gives a hat (knowledge +11), thereby maximizing the amount of mana).
In the end, I created a route and completed it with a delay (2 days, i.e., in 29 days), but at the same time, I earned 870k, collected 3 artifacts (Cursed Armor, Mage's Ring, Dead King's Cloak), killed the Gray Dragon, and almost killed the Blue Dragon. I had to adjust! I didn't want to replay the dungeon, so I started with (1-3-1).
The route in brief: High Elves (1-2-6), Scorpions (1-3-4), Beasts and Elementals (earth) (1-3-6), Dark Beasts (1-4-1), Minotaurs (1-4-3), Hydras and hut (southeast) (1-4-4), Hydras and hut 2 (northeast) (1-4-5). Giants + 2 trees (1-4-6). (Kyle will provide you with more details).
Two events were missed on the route (Medusa and the hut needed for them). It is quite possible to save 2 days in the dungeon and improve the result to 900k!
Goodbye, everyone! I wish everyone good luck in the next tournaments:smile19:!
Sincerely, Perpolken!
Respect to Perapolken and everyone who came close to victory. I had never played online or offline tournaments before. But during this walkthrough, I learned a lot of new things. As for the walkthrough itself, there were only 2 attempts. 1. I gathered friendly monsters, went outside, broke through the elves, sailed to the dungeon, restored mana in the whirlpool, then went to kill the slow meat. The army was very modest because I didn't take diplomacy, so only ~55000. There was no question of any quests there ;) 2. I started the same way, but I didn't touch the elves—only picked up the eyes. Instead, I took earth magic and diplomacy in the witch huts, gathered a few more neutrals, and went through underground teleports to kill the four-legged 6th-level creatures. In the end, I got ~70000=level 19. Realistically, I could have gathered another 10-20 thousand on those same creatures if I hadn't been so wasteful with mana. But the multiple saves just got to me, and by week 4 I was saving rarely—I no longer had the strength to replay. I hope this small experience and studying the winners' saves (they will be uploaded, right?) will help me and other newcomers in future tournaments...
Route in brief: High Elves(1-2-6), Scorpicors(1-3-4), Behemoths and Elementals(earth) (1-3-6), D.Behemoths(1-4-1), Minotaurs(1-4-3), Hydras and hut(south-east)(1-4-4), Hydras and hut2(north-east)(1-4-5), Giants+2 trees(1-4-6).
Why did it take so long underground? I got High Elves at 1:1:6. But afterwards, since the army was weak and the hero wasn't leveled up, I took my main hero southeast to the fortress of life (there's a stable there). Then, like you, I went for the Scorpicors through the light blue gates (a helper hero opened the tent in area 1)
1 - 2 4 - 3 Here is the map scheme - divided into 4 areas.
area N3: Earth Elementals by the gold mine (meanwhile, another helper hero opened the yellow tent - harpies were passed along a chain between him and the main hero). Then Behemoths, but by that time I had about 120 summoned harpies and had collected the Cursed Armor artifact (the fight was tough - little mana and no Spirit of Despair, but the Snake helped). I should mention that you must not forget to pick up the wizard's cloak right there. One of the helpers somewhere snagged a magic collar from the AI in area 1 near the fortress of life, I think Alexandretta.
From here, my route diverges from yours. I transferred the harpies back across the sea to area N2, while the main hero fled there. So, area N2: And there I got lucky and refilled double mana because I was completely dry, and an enemy hero happened to be near that fortress. The main hero with harpies(150 qty) + Snake fled for money to the fortress of life in the southeast. The helper finished off the hero I fled from and, lo and behold - he had the third piece of the Wizard's Ring artifact (spell duration +50) and the Spirit of Despair!!! This hero was immediately transferred to Alexandretta. And the main hero now has a second assembled artifact. He also has Clone, Blind, Slow, and Blessing magic - this is enough to take down slow stompers, as Kyle calls them :)
Now for the Hydrants+hut with a +50000 bonus. Then the harpies are passed along a chain to the Central fortress of this area. The main hero flees there. Then Giants + tree, we move on our own to hit the Devils' fortress (we start preparing the portal gate there) and kill the Gorgon Legion there. We leave the harpies in the fortress. And we slip away into area N1. Partisans were active there, whose main force was summoned Vamps. They captured the fortress near the hut with the quest from the Gorgons. We visit the hut +50000. Was it unguarded? Why - I don't know. And now I flee to area N3. Partisans in area N3 captured the Devils' fortress here and the portal-gates between areas 2 and 3 are set up, and a squad of harpies penetrates there.
Next, we go to D.Behemoths + Tree. Then the Minotaur Legion. Meanwhile, Partisans with Vamps (15 qty) were transferred for money from area 1 to area 3 and captured the lower fortress in the southeast. And this is where I tried to flee into it with the main hero - to hell with the harpies!! :) And with the vamps, break through the Hydrants and visit the quest hut. The battle is won!!! But I ran out of movement points :( And seeing that I didn't have time to replay the last two turns, I did the only possible thing - I slaughtered the Spawns of Evil at the gold mine, from whom I wanted to flee by destroying my BELOVED harpies :) Moreover, I slaughtered them sadistically slowly. After killing one squad, I gave them the chance to raise Goats from it, which I also destroyed to get more experience from the battle :) So that's it :) And then on the last movement point, I still flee to the fortress in the southeast to trade artifacts for oil :) End of movie. Kyle - is this enough? I can answer any questions anyone may have.

Well, let me torture you with questions :) Look what's happening: 1. Behemoths and Elementals(earth) - check 2. D.Behemoths - check 3. Minotaurs - check 4. Hydras and hut(north-east) - check 5. Hydras and hut2(south-east) - well, I was a few movement points short 6. Giants - check 7. 2 trees - check
Against point 5 (where I lacked moves), I put the Gorgon Legion + their hut + Spawns of Evil (hundred)
Plus, today I just played turn 1-4-7 excluding the Spawns of Evil but fought a battle with Vamps against Hydras(south-east) + hut. And still, it only turned out to be level 31 and the amount of experience points I wrote above in the posts. It turns out that in this layout I already have more meat for the Legion and + 1 hut (50000). But I don't reach level 32? Is it all because the trees were not visited last in the route ???

And another question. Your section of the route, namely: Minotaurs(1-4-3), Hydras and hut(south-east)(1-4-4) ???
Here is the map scheme: 1-2 4-3
As I understand it - Minotaurs is a Legion in area 3. How did you transfer from area 3 to area 2 ??? With an army ??? Did a computer player happen to be there? It's quite far from their area of activity - mostly they hang around fortresses, even neutral ones. Please clarify this point? In general, I'm interested in the transfers of strike forces specifically. Because judging by your route, you bounced around a lot between areas 2-3. Or is the route sequence described inaccurately ? What do you say ?
209568 - I was just clearing the bottom right corner of the map, so I only got the bonus for completing one quest:D
I didn't complete a single quest at all :o. I just didn't feel like playing this map at all, but then we came up with lectures and taught me how to scout before starting a playthrough. And the inspiration returned, but there was little time  so I got third place. And I already know that you can get another three or four thousand experience points.
But, we have what we have!
I haven't completed a single quest :o. But, we have what we have!
Kamikaze, what are you saying about the captured Eyes? Where do they surrender, and how many are there? For me, only the Serpents surrendered somewhere in the Dungeon, and there were fewer than 20 of them, as far as I remember. But they were very useful in defeating Legions and Hundreds. On the battlefield, artificial hiding places were created from natural obstacles and blinded units (it was enough to blind 2-3 squads in certain areas of the battlefield). Harpies hid there, a clone was made, and a meat grinder began with five or four squads of meat that simply ran after the Serpent. In general, it could have been done without the Serpent, but it was complicated by the fact that then the enemy squads took a defensive stance, which increased their defense and led to greater mana consumption in battle. In fact, I probably wouldn't have won the first meat grinder battle without the Serpent, because I didn't have much mana, and I didn't have the Ring of the Magician or the Spirit of Despair. I played this battle for two days until I managed to catch the end of the battle WITHOUT morale on the enemy side :)
Kamikaze, what were you saying about the captured Evil Eyes? Where do they surrender and how many are there? The only good thing I got was some Serpents that surrendered somewhere in the Dungeon, numbering less than 20 pieces I think.
Here's the story: if you pick up Advanced Diplomacy by the eighth level, and that is possible, then 122 Evil Eyes join for free to 39 Harpies and 38 Evil Eyes (I had that many, perhaps fewer Eyes are enough, but they are definitely necessary). I only crawled out into the daylight so early for this. Well, I also killed the Elves along the way.

Actually, I probably wouldn't have won the first meat grinder battle without the Serpent, because I didn't have much mana in that fight and I didn't have the Ring of the Magi and I didn't have the Spirit of Oppression. I played that battle for two days until I managed to catch an ending of the fight WITHOUT morale on the enemy :)
I only had one meat grinder battle. Against a legion of Mighty Gorgons. And even then you just have to blind everyone (or almost everyone) there. Then spawn Earth Elementals. Then Shield + Stoneskin + Bloodlust and the so-called meat grinder battle :D

...a clone was made and the meat grinder began...
I don't know that magic

Actually, it could have been done without the Serpent, but it was complicated by the fact that the enemy troops would then take a defensive stance, which increased their defense and led to more mana spent on the battle.
This is a useful remark, I suggest posting it in the LECTURES!!!
The story goes like this: if you get advanced diplomacy by level 8, which is possible, then 122 Evil Eyes join for free to 39 Harpies and 38 Evil Eyes (I had that many, maybe fewer Evil Eyes would suffice, but they are definitely needed). I only crawled out into the daylight this early for that purpose. Well, and I also took care of the Elves on the way.
I see. I didn't have diplomacy in my skills at all. I was thinking of developing as a shooter, getting Force Field, and hoarding Evil Eyes. But then I caught wind of the Ring of the Magi and the Dragon's Power (or maybe I'm naming it wrong — well, that artifact that casts Slow on everyone for 50 turns) and realized that the fight I described above is more beneficial than protecting shooters with Force Field. Doesn't Force Field ignore the Ring of the Magi that increases spell duration by 50 rounds? It still only lasts 2 rounds anyway — right?Kamikaze;109771
I only had one real meat-grinder fight. Against a legion of Mighty Gorgons. And even there, you just had to Blind everyone (or almost everyone). Then spawn some Earth Elementals. Then Shield + Stoneskin + Bloodlust and the so-called meat grinder battle :D
:) Damn, for a battle like that, you'd probably need a ton of mana, like a whole lot?Kamikaze;109771
I don't know that magic
Clone, you mean? That's Water Magic. I didn't have the Water Magic skill, but summoning a clone costs 24 mana. Is it that bad to get another 150 Harpies for the fight out of 150 Harpies? And it wouldn't have been bad for you to double those 122 Evil Eyes for the fight ;) Though the Clone doesn't last until the end of the battle — it depends on the hero's spell power, and with the Ring of the Magi, that's +50 more rounds. By the way, during a fight of 15 Vampires against a hundred roasted Hydras, I tested the Disrupting Ray spell. You can repeatedly reduce the enemy's defense, ideally bringing it down to zero!! The effect lasts until the end of the battle!! That's Air Magic, by the way, and at Expert level, casting one ray costs 8 mana — it reduces defense by about 4-5 points somewhere :)
Doesn't the Ring of the Wizard, which increases the duration of a spell by 50 rounds, have any effect on the force field? It still only lasts for 2 rounds, right?
Yeah, exactly. IronAxe;109782
:) Damn, it seems like a huge amount of mana is needed for such a battle?
I spent 300 units. IronAxe;109782
A clone? That's water magic. I didn't have the water magic skill, but summoning a clone costs 24 mana. Is it really bad to get another 150 Harpies in the battle from 150 Harpies? And wouldn't it be great for you to double the 122 Eyes you have in the battle? ;)
I was just joking about not knowing! IronAxe;109782
True, the clone doesn't last until the end of the battle - it depends on the hero's magic power, but with the Ring of the Wizard + 50 rounds, it lasts longer.
The clone lasts until the end of the battle; the hero's magic power doesn't matter.
Added 1 minute ago IronAxe;109782

Where did you get so many harpies??? I only had a maximum of 40.
The clone lasts until the end of the battle; magic power doesn't matter.
That's what it says in the game manual, but why did it disappear in the actual game, even though no one was attacking it? I checked on both versions - patched and unpatched - what's going on?! Maybe it lasts until the end if you're a Water Magic expert? But I didn't have any Water Magic skills. Can anyone explain this clone issue in more detail? Kamikaze;109789
Where did you get so many harpies??? I only had a maximum of 40.
Well, at the beginning, they gave you that many, I think. And then you had to build quickly, capture harpy dwellings, and choose summoning portals in fortresses so that harpies would appear there when building and when they were born, plus Legion of the Dead units. For the first major battle, I had 120 harpies - that's from two fortresses and three external dwellings. And then I managed to add only 30 more. There were more harpies, but no one could manage to send reinforcements because the main hero was running around like crazy with these harpies. Or rather, there wasn't even an opportunity to send new harpies because all the heroes and money were used to move the main hero to the necessary areas and, accordingly, to send him his 150 harpies in chains.
Good night, everyone! Sorry for writing and for writing infrequently, as I spend little time online, and when I do write, I try to get straight to the point or answer several questions at once.
(IronAxe) - Why did it take you so long underground?
It took so long because I was lazy and didn't want to replay! I admit, it was my mistake! I think if I had replayed a couple of days earlier, I would have had around 900 experience points. In general, when I started playing, I tried to build a large army of harpies (to kill the Black Dragon), so I protected them and didn't attack the elves (instead, I let the computer build castles for me). And when I realized that I didn't have enough knowledge (magic points), I realized this only when I captured a castle that was the same as mine, but my magic didn't double (having magic in different castles doesn't double it), I didn't know that. And I thought that I was doing well anyway and started replaying with (1-3-1).
(IronAxe) - Regarding the comparison (of killed monsters).
I had training, spent more time underground, and killed the blue player (with a good army). And most importantly, I took the trees at the very end, and that's a big plus! Because of these trees, I lost a lot of extra turns, armies, and money.
(IronAxe) - Regarding moving the army.
You got a little confused here. First, with (1-4-3), I killed the minotaurs (zone 3), the next day (1-4-4), I killed the hydras (+hut) in the same (zone 3). And then (1-4-5), I killed the hydras (+hut 2) in zone 2. And how and with what, you can find in my description with Kyle!
IronAxe - congratulations on second place, that's also great! Although it's more disappointing than being third!
Kamikaze and VBN, you guys are great too! Honestly, I thought I would be third after you, because I was almost satisfied with the result, and in the table, Kamikaze is always somewhere nearby! I will definitely read your walkthrough (I'm interested in who and how you killed). Everyone else, don't be discouraged! I did it, so you can do it too!
A small question for IronAxe: where did you get the "Might of the Father Dragons" artifact? I didn't see the main parts of this artifact on the map. Maybe I missed something? Sorry in advance for the slight criticism...
Soon, Kyle will post the players' descriptions for review, and if you have any questions for me, I will be happy to answer them (but not immediately). Sorry in advance!
With respect, Perpolken!
