In general, when I started playing, I tried to build a large army of harpies (to kill the Black Dragon), so I protected them and didn't attack the elves (instead, I let the computer build castles for me). And when I realized that I didn't have enough knowledge (magic points), I realized this only when I captured a castle that was the same as mine, but my magic didn't double (having magic in different castles doesn't double it), I didn't know that. And I thought that I was doing well anyway and started replaying with (1-3-1). (IronAxe) - Regarding the comparison (of killed monsters). I had training, spent more time underground, and killed the blue player (with a good army). And most importantly, I took the trees at the very end, and that's a big plus! Because of these trees, I lost a lot of extra turns, armies, and money. (IronAxe) - Regarding moving the army. You got a little confused here. First, with (1-4-3), I killed the minotaurs (zone 3), the next day (1-4-4), I killed the hydras (+hut) in the same (zone 3). And then (1-4-5), I killed the hydras (+hut 2) in zone 2.
