Map generation is performed using IRMG version 1.7.8 or version 1.8.0.
Settings for IRMG:
1."Zones Compatibility Factor" = 1.5
2."Monster Strength Factor" = 1.0
3."Portal Connection Only" - off (meaning the button is not pressed)
3."No obstacles On Map" - off

Game Settings:
Turn time limit – 10 minutes.
Animation speed – 5.
Quick combat – enabled.
Simultaneous turns – enabled.
Dynamic combat – disabled.
Ghost mode – disabled.
Autosave – enabled.
Game difficulty – hero

Reasons for a player to be excluded from the tournament:
- failure to comply with the regulations and rules of this tournament;
- violation of tournament deadlines without prior notification to the tournament judge;
- fact of violating prohibitions in this tournament;
- rudeness, public insult of the organizer, judge, or tournament participants.
Replacement of tournament participants for those who have dropped out is possible. The result of the dropped participant is transferred by "inheritance" to the newly joined tournament participant.

1. Games are played on the latest official version of the game. Currently – HoMM V: Tribes of the East 3.1, using the Tournament Edition mod - description thread (hereinafter, TE), download mod.

The game can be played via GameRanger, Hamachi, Tungle, Remobo, COMODO EasyVPN, and similar programs.

2. Since the game has autosave - it is recommended to save once every 3 days.

3. THE TOURNAMENT IS HELD IN A ROUND-ROBIN FORMAT. Each participant plays against everyone else once (1 game).

Player pairs are formed randomly by the judges for each game so that each player plays with every other player only once.

COLOR SELECTION
By mutual agreement of the players; otherwise, colors are determined by the judge. If one of the players is a judge, the other player has the right to request color selection from another person known to both players.

TEMPLATE SELECTION:
The template is selected randomly by the judges for each game between players for the entire tournament so that each player can sequentially play on all templates. Repeated use is permitted. However, there should be no repeats if 8 or fewer players are registered; up to 2 repeats for 9-16 players; 3 repeats for 17-24, and so on. The initial list of 8 templates (crown, letos, m3, mask, labyrinth, rainbow, spider, sun) restarts after a player has played through the entire template list.
Templates for IRMG. Template schemes.
Information about formed pairs and templates will be posted no later than 8:00 MSK time on 26.04.2018.

FACTION SELECTION:
Before the start of the tournament, after the information about formed player pairs and templates is posted, each participant sends the judges the faction they will play with against their opponent in the pair for the duration of the entire tournament. This faction information is sent via internet pager, internet messenger, SMS message, or any other method convenient for the player, but not by voice. The following requirement must be observed for the entire tournament.
When selecting a faction, there should be no:
- repeats if 8 or fewer players are registered;
- 2 repeats if 9-16 players are registered;
- 3 repeats if 17-24 players are registered, and so on.
Judges, if they are players, "simultaneously" send their factions to each other for a specific player for the entire tournament following the same procedure as other participants of this tournament until 12:00:00 MSK 26.04.2018, and then accept factions from the remaining participants until 22:59:59 MSK 26.04.2018. Players who do not send their lists are automatically dropped from the tournament.

In case your opponent does not respond to you, please report this immediately in the tournament thread. This may be used to assign a technical decision for the game.
If opponents cannot agree, by default the game should take place either Friday evening, Saturday, or Sunday. The judge must be notified of the inability to agree. He may personally appoint a convenient time for both or schedule the game for Friday evening, Saturday, or Sunday.
If:
- by the end of Friday evening (24:00 MSK time),
- on Saturday
- Sunday
the opponent has been unable to start and finish the game within the tour deadline, a technical defeat is assigned to them. After two technical defeats, the player is excluded from the tournament.
If both players are unable to play from Friday evening through Sunday, both players receive a technical defeat.
In exceptional cases (by decision of the judge), a Fixed Date and Time (FDT) may be (but not necessarily) appointed. If a player does not show up for the game within 1 hour of the appointed FDT, they are considered absent from the game and awarded a technical defeat. If both players fail to appear at the appointed FDT, they both receive a technical defeat and are excluded from the tournament.

4. The use of any bugs, undocumented features, cheat codes, as well as unofficial programs and modifications is prohibited, except for the mods specified in the tournament regulations and programs that create virtual networks.

5. In case of a connection break or game crash, the last autosave is loaded; players are required to exactly repeat all their moves up to the moment of the connection break or crash. In case of a connection break or crash on the first day of the game, heroes are randomly rolled again.

6. In battles between players, a stalemate situation may arise (where neither player can win). In this situation, the attacking side must retreat or surrender (at their discretion). If the Shackles of War artifact is involved in the battle, then upon occurrence of a stalemate, the battle should be finished in AutoCombat mode.

7. Each player is entitled to 3 restarts with map regeneration no later than the third day (the end of the day is considered the pressing of the turn-transfer button, regardless of whether the opponent has completed their current turn or not); after a restart, the template is reset to the one determined before the restart. If a restart is taken on 1-1-1, the player has 2 days of restarts for the next map (meaning they can take another 2 restarts on 1-1-1, or 1 restart on 1-1-2). If a restart is taken on 1-1-2, the player has 1 day of restarts for the next map (meaning they can still take 1 restart on 1-1-1). If a restart is taken on 1-1-3, the player has no more restart days for the next map.

Simultaneous turn break or desync in week 1 - technical restart (except cases where both players are ready to continue the game)
Simultaneous turn break or desync in week 2 and later - the game continues (except cases where both players are ready to start the game over)

8. "Red-rush" is prohibited, meaning an attack by red on the first day of the week with purchased growth (the red player may attack on the first day, but not while purchasing growth).

9. Joining neutrals is prohibited. As an exception, joined units can be taken to be sacrificed in a pit or sold at the market, but not put into battle.
Goblins who joined the army after "Betrayal" triggers may remain in the army.

10. Using the same-turn spell "Astral Gates" to jump from any zone into the opponent's starting zone is prohibited if the portal/garrison connecting them has not been broken. It is also prohibited to use the same-turn spell "Astral Gates" to jump into an adjacent zone of the opponent and enter the opponent's starting zone in that same turn.

11. Pressing wait on Krag's first hit in battles with opponent heroes is prohibited; it is permitted against neutrals.

14. When determining a player's position in the tournament table in case of equal points, the following criteria apply:
- Berger coefficient;
- result of head-to-head meeting;
- number of wins;
- number of draws;
- number of losses;
- additional game.

15. Attention! LOADS are PROHIBITED in this tournament!!
Exception: a mutual agreement on the number of loads has been reached by both players. If, despite the agreed number of loads, players have disagreements about the outcome of the game (win/loss) due to loads, the tournament judge reserves the right to decide the outcome of the game.

The application for registration in the tournament is made using the automated system by clicking the "sign up for tournament" button.
In the message, you must specify data for all available means of communication that the player deems necessary to provide:
- I.C.Q., qip, Miranda and similar;
- Discord, Skype and similar;
- phone, Viber, WhatsApp and similar;
- email address.

After this, send the automatically created message.

I just don't understand why bother with templates when you can simply choose from a complete list. Why force people to play with templates they don't like? My suggestion: for factions, players send the judge the faction for each opponent before the tournament begins. If there are more than 8 rounds, there should be no more than one repeat; if there are more than 16 rounds, no more than 2 repeats. For templates, choose from the complete list for each game. In the end, everything is simple and straightforward, and Kirill can spend his time on something more useful.

My suggestion: for races, players send the judge the race for each opponent before the tournament starts; if there are more than 8 rounds, there should be no more than one repeat; if there are more than 16, no more than 2. For templates, choose from the full list for each game. In the end, it's simple and without any hassle, and Kirill can spend time on something more useful.
I support it, but the player sends the race, not the opponent's race, but their own...

Hmm, my idea was simpler. First, we start with the rule that players choose their race to counter their opponent. Here's an important point: how many people will register? Let's say there's an option where each person can play two games against each other. For example, I choose Elf (Dexter) against Moz – Elf (Mask) template, and he chooses Orc (Letos) template. The second option is I choose Orc (Letos) template, and he chooses Human (M3) template. The judge has two options. He draws a lot, and Moz is chosen. Then, option 1 is selected, and the game is Elf (Dexter) vs. Orc (Moz) with the Letos template, followed by Human (Moz) vs. Elf (Dexter) with the Letos template. If Dexter had been chosen by the judge, then the games would be Orc (Moz) vs. Elf (Dexter) with the Mask template and Orc (Dexter) vs. Human (Moz) with the M3 template. As you can see, nothing fundamentally changes, but in each case, a different template and a different player color are used. After this, each player eliminates two races and two templates. Then, with other players, you can eliminate from the remaining options. In the first case, both players eliminate Letos. In the second case, Dexter eliminates Mask, and Moz eliminates M3. Also, the races that the players have already used are always eliminated.

Hmm, my idea was simpler. First, we start with the rule that we choose a race to play against our opponent.
Here, it's clear: in the list, we specify the race and template for each player against the other.
chudo_ud0
If, for example, there's an option to play two games against each person, then it would work like this: I choose the Elf template "Mask" against Moz, and he chooses the Orc template "Letos." In the second option, I choose the Orc template "Letos," and he chooses the Human template "M3." The judge has two options in the end; he conducts a draw, and Moz is chosen. Then, the first option is selected, and the game is played: Elf (Dexter) vs. Orc (Moz) with the "Letos" template.
Option 1 is game 1.
Option 2 is game 2. Is that correct?
The first game is clear, except for one thing: how was the color determined?
chudo_ud0
And then the second pair plays: Human (Moz) vs. Dexter (Orc) with the "Letos" template.
To be honest, I don't quite understand this part.
Probably like this: Orc (Moz) vs. Dexter (Human) with the "M3" template. Again, how was the color determined?
Let's use different races and templates in both options, without repetition. Please write it out again, explaining how the selection process works.
Thanks in advance.

After playing against Moz, Dextervar plays against Sergey, who has chosen the M3 and Letos templates. Dextervar plays two games using templates he has already used, meaning they are excluded from his list but not from the list of the player he is playing against. Is that how it works? In principle, you could cross out options each time from the full list; the judge simply announces the Castle after the templates have been crossed out. At least this way, each player knows their Castle and will try to choose the template that suits them best.

So, first you say that players choose templates and Castles, and then you say that for the next game, templates are already crossed out? I don't quite understand your idea.
I think you're not referring to the method of crossing out when determining templates and factions, but rather to reducing the number of templates and factions in a player's list...

Here's an idea I just had.
We send the judge a list of "our" faction for the 1st and 2nd games, and ONE "our" template against each player. The judge "draws" a lot.
If Player 1 is drawn, then in the 1st game, the players play:
- on Player 1's template;
- the factions are already determined, as the list indicates which faction the player will have in the 1st game and the 2nd game.
In the 2nd game, Player 2's template is used, and the factions are already determined.
The judge can determine the color by drawing lots, or the players can determine it themselves, and then the players in the pair switch colors.

After the 1st and 2nd games, the templates and factions of Player 1 and Player 2 are crossed out from their full list. There are no repetitions, and there is no need to keep track of the lists of templates and factions, as they will already be known for all games of the tournament and will be indicated in the tournament table before it begins.

In my opinion, the idea of the tournament will be fulfilled, and all factions and templates will be played. :smile44:

I understand that the "черк" method isn't about determining templates and factions, but rather about reducing the number of templates and factions in a player's list...

That's the idea I had.
We send the judge a list of "our" faction for the 1st and 2nd games, and ONE "our" template against each player. The judge "draws" a random selection.
If Player 1 is selected, then in the 1st game, players play:
- on Player 1's template;
- the factions are already determined, as the list indicates which faction each player will have in the 1st and 2nd games.
In the 2nd game, Player 2's template is used, and the factions are already determined.
The judge can determine the color by drawing lots, or the players can decide themselves, and then the players in a pair switch colors.

After the 1st and 2nd games, the templates and factions of Player 1 and Player 2 are removed from their complete list. There are no repetitions, and there is no need to monitor the lists of templates and factions, as they will already be known for all games of the tournament and will be indicated in the tournament table before it begins.

In my opinion, the idea of the tournament will be fulfilled, and all factions and templates will be played. :smile44:
Kirill, and then Player 1 plays against Player 3, who has chosen a template that Player 1 has already played against Player 2, and it turns out that Player 1 plays twice on the same template. No matter how you look at it, there will be template repetitions for any of the players, but with the number of players equal to or greater than the number of templates, it will be possible for each player to play on all templates by excluding the played templates from the list. But repetitions cannot be avoided. In the end, you can play with a system of choosing castles and templates where the player chooses a castle and a template for a specific opponent, but I would prefer to choose from the complete list without knowing the opponent's castle.

Hello everyone! I like Kirill's idea – it's clear and simple. Theoretically, out of 16 games with 8 opponents, you can play on the same template 9 times, but on average, a template will appear no more than 4-5 times. I'm FOR it!

... but I would prefer to draw from the complete list without knowing the opponent's castle.
As a result, some templates will remain unplayed.

Yeah, I messed up with the repeats, my head is full of other things: I can’t think straight anymore. Dima, I think, will still write what he thinks needs to be done to avoid repeats in templates and factions. It seems to me that it would be ideal to play without repeats. I have another idea! We do everything as I described, but we assign opponents for each round, that is, before the start of the round, there are pairs of players and information about the played factions and templates (initially, complete lists). As the rounds progress, the lists of factions and templates decrease, there will be no repeats, I think... or am I being silly again? A round is the 1st and 2nd game between specific players every 14 days (one game - 7 days).

Do you mean that if there are more than 4 participants in a group or not in a group? As I understand it, Dextera's main goal is to avoid repetitions among a single complete row of factions or templates. And if there are more than 4 participants (playing 2 games each), then repetitions will certainly occur.

When players choose templates for a specific match, a situation may arise where player 1 plays all their templates in the first games, and in the subsequent games, they only play, for example, with the Fortress, because players 1, 2, 3, 4... will choose to play against them with the Fortress. Yes, player 1 will play all the templates once, but there may be so many repetitions of the other templates that it will discourage them from playing.

On the other hand, removing templates from the list for each game will further increase the likelihood of repetitions, as players will try to eliminate the templates that are inconvenient for them first.

Okay, let's go through it again. Let's say we decided to play 2 games. Dexter sends Humans and League templates, Letos and Laba. Consequently, in the next match, I will only have 6 races available (which ones will be clear after the draw), and 2 fewer templates (also after the draw). Moz sends 2 races, Orcs and Necromancers, and 2 templates, Rainbow and Spider. A draw is conducted, and number 2 (Moz) is selected, which means Moz chooses the first option and plays as blue. Here's how it looks:
Game 1
Dexter Humans - Moz Orcs template Rainbow (1 template is chosen from his options)
Game 2, we switch colors and options
Moz Necromancers - Dexter League template Laba (the template is chosen from my 2 options)

If the judges draw that I play the first game as blue, it will look like this:
Game 1
Moz Orcs - Dexter Humans template Letos (1 template is chosen from my option)
Game 2, we switch colors and options
Dexter League - Moz Necromancers template Spider (the template is chosen from his 2 options)

So, I have played Humans and League, and the Rainbow and Laba templates. Consequently, in the next match, I play with these races and templates removed.
In reality, it's written in a complicated way, but it's very simple. There is a slightly higher workload for the judges. The players only need to choose 2 races and 2 templates against each opponent. The races will always be played, and only 1 template will be chosen, and the other will be the one the opponent chose. In total, 2 templates.
As soon as all 8 races and templates have been played against all opponents, the next round begins.
