if the disconnect occurred during a battle, after the game resumes, all battle moves are repeated (if exactly impossible, then as close as possible to how it was)

8. Additional
a. playing with experience and tax
b. for battles between players with different providers, the program hamachi can be used

c. rules can only be changed with the mutual consent of the players and my consent for 1 party\game...

Actually, it's the same question again.
On the Heroes portal, can't you find a single player who knows how to play Heroes 3 and has 3-4 hours a week to play???

We don't really like playing WOG...
Everyone usually prefers SOD. That is, if you organize a tournament for Heroes 3, SOD version, I think there will be many more participants... ;)

Sincerely.

The rules are completely copied from heroes.by; it would be good to mention this...
Regarding TE, it's the same as SOD, only more balanced and convenient.

Regarding TE, it's basically the same as SOD, but more balanced and user-friendly.
I don't argue, because I think so too, it's just that most of us play SOD... (this is just a fact)

Sincerely.

i.e., if you organize a Heroes 3 version of the SoD tournament, I think there will be many more participants... ;)

I noticed that too. And I agree with Kyle.

What is SOD without restrictions?!
- it's...
1) Slow battles
2) Complete lack of hotkeys
3) Complete imbalance of factions (Necropolis, Stronghold)
4) Complete imbalance of magic (Earth and Air are clearly stronger than Water and Fire)
5) Cheating buildings on the map (Cartographer, Fort on a hill)
6) A huge number of bugs (starting with double-casts and ending with selling artifacts at the wrong price)
7) Cheating diplomacy
8) Cheating heroes (Sir Mulich, Isra, Grindan)
9) Cheating artifacts (Wings of Angel, Blade of Armageddon)
10) Stupid scrolls, like DD guarded by 70 troglodytes

and I think that's not all :)
Why play something that's worse? Where's the logic?

Hello! Sorry if I'm being rude, but I'm not a fan of Town Enhancement, and I'll say this: For a complete balance (if you're striving for it), play Swamp against Swamp on a mirrored map!

Again, sorry if I was too blunt...:smile43:

Good afternoon!
Have you played Town Enhancement yourself, and what specifically didn't you like about it?

You beat me to it. I wanted to organize a tournament with Adelaide using the TE version, but only on fixed maps (I hate randomness, or rather, an unbalanced map randomizer). But we decided to wait so there wouldn't be a conflict with the mandatory seasonal tournament.
To be honest, I was a bit surprised by the negative attitude of Heroes players toward the TE version  After all, it was written specifically for conducting online tournaments. I only recently started playing TE and haven't figured everything out yet (which is why I play with almost all options disabled), but I really appreciated a couple of things. The author of the thread should have started not with the regulations, but with an explanation and description of the differences in TE. I want to note that what seems difficult to grasp at first glance can be TURNED OFF, leaving you with regular SoD. You can keep only the chess clock and quick stack operations (to quote for clarity: 8. Many control buttons and various key combinations have been added. Now you can transfer an entire army from one hero to another with a single mouse click; likewise, all artifacts are transferred with a single click. With one key combination, you can separate units from a troop stack into all free slots; with another combination, conversely, gather them into one stack; with a third, distribute them evenly across free slots, etc.)
In WOG we don't really like to play...
The tournament isn't being proposed on WoG ;) I've never played WoG myself.
if you organize a tournament for Heroes 3 SoD version, I think there will be many more participants..
TE with options disabled is the same as SoD, just more balanced and improved.
Sorry if this is rude, but I am not a supporter of TE,
Have you ever played TE?
If NO, then it's called being a "conservative," not "not a supporter." If YES, then please explain why, if it's not too much trouble. I personally don't know a single Heroes player who has played TE and didn't like this version
For full balance (if that's what you're striving for), play swamp against swamp on a mirrored map!
Sorry, but I see absolutely no logic in your suggestion.
If anyone is interested, they can read the article about TE written by Wic, a Heroes player from the League http://cyberfight.ru/site/columns/56/article_43389/

To be honest, I was a bit surprised by the negative attitude towards the TE version:confused:. After all, it was created specifically for online tournaments. I myself have been playing TE recently and still don't understand many things (that's why I play with almost all options disabled), but I really appreciated a couple of moments. The author of the topic should have started not with the rules, but with explaining and describing the differences in TE. I want to note that what seems difficult to understand at first glance can be turned OFF, and you get the usual SoD. You can leave only chess clocks and quick operations with stacks (I will quote for clarity: 8. Many control buttons and various key combinations have been added. Now you can transfer the entire army from one hero to another with one click, just like that, artifacts are transferred with one click. With one combination of keys, you can separate units from a stack into all free slots, with another combination, conversely, collect them into one stack, with a third, distribute them evenly across free slots, etc.)

Well, I didn't expect such negativity towards TE either; last time /topic/1882/ everyone reacted normally, and a decent number of people registered.

Now regarding fixed maps, my opinion is that on a fixed map, the one who studies it better before the game wins (calculates all possible moves, etc.). This resembles an off-line tournament more than an online one.
We played one tournament on fixed maps, and most agreed that random maps are better. http://igronet.ru/forum//topic/452/

And yet, in order to somehow smooth out the factor of luck or bad luck with the map, there are two restarts, and the game is played until 2 victories.

Friends,
This is a tournament topic, and this kind of debate is considered off-topic here. Therefore, I hope the moderators of this section will move this debate to another topic.

off-topic:
IMHO: TE is a very good thing for online play; few people would argue with that, as the bugs have been fixed, and the interface has been improved.
But there is a catch! Many people, including myself, don't like the fact that they started changing the balance, because many of the things they've tweaked are, to put it mildly, questionable. For example: the Slow spell has become a 2nd-level spell, which means it can no longer be cast on cursed ground... a questionable change.
/off-topic

Sincerely.

and he got used to the fact that there is such a skill - diplomacy...
It is also present in TE, but it is only needed to reduce the cost of ransom. Would you like it if 70 wyverns joined your opponent and he defeated you without losses, even though you are clearly playing better than him?
that Necromancers come with a bunch of skeletons,
In TE, they also come with a bunch, only the bunch is a little smaller.
and phoenixes are cheap and very effective
the same is true in TE
That the Swamp faction has no serious magic
I didn't quite understand. The Swamp faction still has three levels of creatures.
That to install TE (including SoD), you need to install 3.58f first.
should I continue?
Is it hard for you to download 40 MB?
PS I haven't played TE myself,
You should have started with that.
but I've heard about it...
Playing and hearing are two different things. Yes, I don't deny that many things were unclear to me at first, but the main thing is to overcome yourself and take a responsible step, and then it will go smoothly.

In general, I want to say that in order to avoid further arguments about the same thing, if someone is against it, let them not participate, and everything will be fine. After all, no one is forcing anyone here.
Despite the fact that I don't like randomness, I am participating:

The slow spell has become a 2nd level spell. i.e. now it cannot be cast on cursed ground... a controversial point..
A strong argument against TE ;)
Now about the fixes, my opinion is that on a fixed map, the one who studies it better before the game will win (calculates all moves, etc.). This is more like an off-line tournament,
I agree, but nevertheless, tournaments are held and are successful. And regarding restarts, I know, but no matter how many restarts there are, the same imbalance remains.

A couple of questions:
if the turn time is 4 minutes, what is the starting time?
If you've already taken on this task, then to make it easier for newcomers, create a configuration file with all the necessary settings and checkboxes and post it here. I know from experience that it is difficult to do this at first and to understand everything

P.S. I'm leaving for a week or two in September. I hope this will not hinder the tournament organizer?

These are regular clocks, not chess clocks, so the time for any turn is 4 minutes.
The configuration file will be available shortly.

P.S.: It won't be a problem;)

I agree with Quaker. By the way, thanks for bringing me back to TE – it’s a great mod.
You can figure out the settings pretty quickly by reading the manual.
I would also like to participate in your tournament.

This statement doesn't make sense! How do you know that the opponent plays worse? And if you really know who plays better and who plays worse, then why even play. You can immediately rank everyone and that's it.
In SoD, everything is done as it should be, or almost everything :smile13:, but in TE, the balance is changed very specifically!

In TE, they also come in large numbers, only the number is a little smaller.
I agree, this is a plus for TE. But what about magic??? It's terrible. Someone wrote that air and earth magic are much stronger (although this is also debatable: clone or berserk is proof to the contrary). And why shouldn't they be stronger.

You're right! I don't understand many things in TE, but I'm not against this mod. I agree that there are many advantages to it. But the desire to compete makes me participate, so I'm in for the tournament! I hope to change my opinion during the gameplay.:D
