I think this bug could be exploited in many maps. In the metatasker, of course, every other battle is against the Lazurites, but the clone only appears in the last 10% of the map, and the Berserk only in the last battle. There, a simple blind effect will only appear after completing half the map. As I understand it, this bug shouldn't work in HD+. And practically all maps are designed for solutions other than this kind of bug. Except for rare cases like Bug-race and the Chinese maps.
Actually, I saw this bug, and I immediately understood that we were talking about it when the conversation turned to the tent. But I think that bugs like this one, or the one with the earthquake, should be fixed, not exploited when playing through maps.
just in case, I'll note that my tasks imply the use of HD+ (to use the sod_sp plugin for the original terrain), so this kind of bug is not used there.
Really? As mentioned above, SoD_sp preserves the SoD gameplay, i.e., berserkers destroy troops, which means this should also work. I doubt anyone fixed the bugs selectively.Marlo_Stanfield
SoD SP restores the original SoD, but you can replay battles immediately, just like in HD+. And the behavior of units under berserk also becomes standard.
As I understand it, the idea of restoring the original code doesn't mean completely ignoring HD+, but rather specifically changing sections of the code to restore the original landscape and original randomness. Moreover, both the original randomness and the original landscape can be restored or not restored via an option within the plugin itself. So, fixing the bugs in HD+ is still relevant.
It is possible to win without using Berserk, especially if the enemy has archers. After some time, they stop reacting, and the Azure Dragons can be killed if there are enough of them, of course.
You can test this battle again with the enemy having full stacks. Perhaps it's not as unfair as it seems. The mechanics seem to be the same as in the Sacrifice + Phoenix bug, which means that the action of mass spells that shouldn't be mass spells might be the issue, and there might be other hidden problems. Aeris has something to say about this: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=37772
There's something to test here.
Map: Ray of light I reached the hero Nemezida and don't know how to defeat her. Maybe someone has some ideas? I can't even survive 2 rounds. Berserker and Power Field are not available. But recently, I got Frenzy; I don't know how it can help in this battle. Here's an example screenshot of the starting field:
I already wrote that, in my opinion, the tactics for this battle are similar to the tactics for the battle with Overlord Hex. The Archangels should stand in the lower left corner behind the cross; you need to blind the attacking stacks from both sides and the fairy dragons, and use Forgetfulness on the archers. The only problem is that I can't make it to round 3. That's why I've put this map aside for now. You can write to the author (his email address is in the discussion on maps4heroes), but I'm afraid that you'll have to spend a long time struggling before each subsequent enemy.
However, let's hear what Marlo_Stanfield has to say. I can provide a save before the battle.
And why isn't the amount of mana displayed? And where is your azure dragon? I hope he's still alive, otherwise, I'm afraid you won't be able to get through some parts without him. By the way, I only recently noticed that even after the azure dragons die, the fear of them sometimes still takes effect.
Воскресайте, камінні душі, Розчиняйте серця і чоло, Щоб не сказали Про вас грядущі: їх на землі не було… (Василь Симоненко. Люди – прекрасні)
The Archangels should be positioned in the lower left corner, behind the cross. You need to blind the attacking stacks from both sides and use Forgetfulness on the ranged attackers and the fairy dragons.
Based on the screenshot, I would test this tactic first. I don't want to try loading a save, as it wouldn't be as interesting to play afterward. Marmot
By the way, I only recently noticed that even after the Azure Dragons die, the fear effect they inflict sometimes still triggers.
From my observations, this happens if the AI resurrects the Azure Dragons during a battle after they have been completely destroyed.
For those interested in game bugs, here's another one to add to the collection. However, it has no practical use – quite the opposite, it only causes harm. I'm seeing this for the first time in all these years, and I hope I won't encounter it again. I don't know what exactly caused it or how to reproduce it intentionally. Maybe someone will have some ideas about it. I encountered it yesterday on the "Wayfarer" map while attacking a Fortress with Adrian. I used the "Cyclops + Power Field" combination, which had worked perfectly in the previous battle against Tazar. And at some point, Adrian resurrected part of the stack of Wyverns that I had destroyed, and after that, the game froze: the enemy does nothing, and the turn doesn't pass to me; all the buttons at the bottom are inactive, only the outline of the Wyvern stack is flashing. I took a screenshot. I waited for a while, but when it became clear that this was an abnormal situation and it wouldn't resolve itself, I tried to get the game out of the freeze by entering the win cheat code. The console was still working, by the way. But it was late, I was tired, and I entered the code incorrectly four times in a row. :) I decided: this is a sign from above, it's not worth the risk, and I exited the game through the top menu (I'm playing in windowed mode with the HD mod). I replayed that battle today, but it seems that I can't win it with the forces I have anyway: I don't have enough mana, and I need to bring in the remaining troops that I left in reserve.
And why isn't the amount of mana displayed? And where is your azure dragon? I hope he's alive, otherwise, I'm afraid we won't be able to proceed in some places without him. By the way, I only recently noticed that even after the death of azure dragons, the fear of them sometimes still takes effect.
Yes, it's unrealistic to survive until you can blind everyone =( The azure dragon is alive, I just left him in the mine with griffons and swordsmen.
The fear from azure dragons remains even if you make clones of them, which is annoying in some battles =)
I think there should be a slightly different tactic for nemezida, because before the battle, there is a warning that this is the 2nd test of your abilities, and the awarding of frenzy also confuses me.
It won't be possible to accumulate an army either; the timer until the end of the game forces you not to stand still.

And why isn't the amount of mana displayed?
And I don't know about this; I tried different resolutions, and mana is never displayed. :smile18:
It’s strange that the HD mod doesn’t fix this issue. But back in the day, people used THIS.
Thank you, it helped, but some of the information is now in English. I'm trying to find the right line so I can add it to a similar file, GENRLTXT.RUS, in the HD mod. I did it simpler: I changed the extension of the GENRLTXT.RUS file to .txt and put it in the data folder, and everything worked. Thank you very much!
