As I understand it, the idea of restoring the original code doesn't mean completely ignoring HD+, but rather specifically changing sections of the code to restore the original landscape and original randomness. Moreover, both the original randomness and the original landscape can be restored or not restored via an option within the plugin itself. So, fixing the bugs in HD+ is still relevant.
