Do you consider yourself a Hero? Auto-translated

What does the word "Hero" mean to you? And do you consider yourself a "Hero"? Or maybe you consider someone else a "hero"? Who and why?

Do you consider yourself a "Hero"?

No

Or do you consider someone else a "hero"? Who and why?

No

Become a hero

What does the word "Hero" mean to you?

A person who doesn't violate moral and ethical norms, even in the "Anything Goes" section. Did I guess right?

But seriously?

I believe that a hero is someone who, for the sake of the common good (from their point of view), is willing to sacrifice something of their own.

I don't consider myself a hero, as I am a greedy, arrogant creature and would never do anything for others.
I can't name anyone as a hero either.

I can't call anyone a hero either.

In my opinion, every person is selfish to some extent, some more, some less, but selfishness is an integral part of our existence, isn't it? Even the most selfless act can have a selfish motive. By agreeing to go to the store for bread, we successfully avoid a scandal with our parents, which could have happened if we had refused. In doing so, we make our lives easier and save ourselves from the unpleasant feeling that usually appears after unpleasant conversations with loved ones. It's not that this always happens everywhere, sometimes it's impossible to even think about it, everything happens as if on its own. Sometimes, perhaps, there are cases when a person does good from the bottom of their heart, as it is called, without pursuing any selfish gain, even subconsciously. Perhaps such a person, a person ready to sacrifice himself not only for loved ones and friends, but also for people in general, even strangers, can truly be called a hero. In principle, my last sentence is an interpretation of Vis-Trit's saying:

I believe that a hero is someone who is willing to sacrifice something of their own for the common good (from their point of view).

I agree with that...

Are you out of heroes?

No, the heroes are still here; where would they go? I think that at any given time, there will always be someone who stands out from the selfish, self-serving masses... they just don't shout like we sometimes do: "I'm a freaking hero!", banging their head against the wall and slamming their fist on the table. Instead, they quietly and modestly do their humble heroic deeds... sometimes, you forget that such people exist, and you stop believing, but then – bam! – they appear out of nowhere, do something good for someone, and disappear again.
Yeah, they're out there, they're somewhere nearby... :)

Why is everyone ignoring the first question?

What does the word "Hero" mean to you?

What does the word "Hero" mean to you?

A suicide bomber...

Hero (from Greek ἥρωας, "brave man, leader") is a class of characters in Greek mythology, the children of a deity or descendants of a deity and a mortal.

Most heroes are warriors who destroy ancient monsters and fight among themselves.

In a philosophical and ethical sense, a hero is a person who commits an act of self-sacrifice for the common good. In philosophy, this concept was explored by Hegel, where the hero is treated as an embodiment of the national spirit.

The main difference between heroes and gods is that heroes are mortal. The attempt to make a hero immortal is a recurring mythological plot. For the most part, these attempts are not made by the heroes themselves, but by their immortal parents, but these attempts usually remain futile.

Hacker, anyone can use Wiki.
And it seems like VisTrit asked the question "what does the word 'hero' mean to **you**," not the definition.

maybe for him, that's what a hero means?) can't definitions coincide with personal opinion? ))

in general, you can call different people heroes) for some, it's a person who sacrificed their life to save others (or risked their life saving others) or who simply helps people (orphans, the sick, etc.) with money, various things, food... or a hero is relative, i.e., someone who did something difficult... like, you sat through 6 classes! you're a hero xD)
basically, the main thing is what meaning the person using the word puts into it)
although for me, the first option is closer to what a hero is, but that doesn't mean the second is less significant, it's just that there's another name for it)

P.S. I don't consider myself one... yet)))))))))))

A hero is someone who has this thing ;)
