I only did it once, when I paid someone to take an exam for me, for a particularly crazy professor who had failed the exam twice himself.

I could talk endlessly about that time when I suddenly had kidney problems right during a session with a particularly harsh professor who was failing students from all courses. And when I went to retake the missed exam, I ended up with a group of underachievers, and we were given a very simple test, which, for me, didn't even count as a retake.

Update: I completed the quest, checked with a male champion; it seems like he's just a slightly crazy guy, and the description on GBF was just drug-induced rambling.

Let me explain about the party. I just threw all the gold characters into the main party and am just leveling them up (except for Sandal – he's my husband and got a guaranteed spot there); I automatically generated an additional party for some quest with the Karlans, but haven't gotten around to disbanding it.
Another question: is it worth leveling up/upgrading bronze/silver characters, and how much sense does it make to assemble a party based on a single element? I've put together parties a couple of times on the fly just because of the element or some quest restrictions; the main quests are still easy to complete with the gold party; ideally, I want to assemble a dream team of a bunch of husbands and only use them, but that would cause problems with elemental matchups. I'm not very interested in optimization; I just want to avoid completely messing up.

Characters who stood out after playing through the story mods (I didn't play through all of them, because I didn't unlock them all).

Walder. A cool jerk.
Lowain. Another satirical jerk with his crazy buddies; a complete idiot, but he's funny. I added him to the party, and I laughed until I cried at his special attack animation.
Vermeil. The most annoying race, but this guy somehow caught my attention. Definitely not husband material, but he caught my attention.
Barawa. Not exactly my type, but he's gorgeous.
Lucius. Just glad to see a familiar face.
Richard. Low husband material.

How much sense does it make to assemble a party based on a single element?

So much that it's the only viable option, at least until mid-to-high tiers. The vast majority of weapon skills buff a specific element.
Silver ones can be used. Well, some can, some can't. I don't recommend bronze ones.
You seem to have a decent light party with Soldafon, De La Fiy, and Saria. Well, you should replace the last one later with someone else who is light.
In water, there's Silva, which is very cool. Take Catalina and Liliel there and get a group that's no worse than the light one. More precisely, it will be clearly better, but the downside (for you) will be that it won't have Soldafon.
Air: Fina is so-so, but Carmelina seems quite good. I would take Hazen as the third, but that card is also geared towards Vira, and Vira is of a different element.

By the way, I also like Barava.

Ideally, I want to assemble a dream team of a few heroes and only play with them, but that would create elemental imbalances. Optimization isn't a major concern; I just want to avoid complete failure.

You can only carry that for a short time, especially at the beginning. Even then, it's not recommended. Unless you're lucky enough to pull a Grand Order. But then you'll have to choose heroes from different elements.

The more I play through Lennah's storyline, the more I like it. In my opinion, she is the best Wind element character.

Unfortunately, it's not a flash gacha right now. But you can get summer versions of male characters if anyone is interested.

Levai is decent, but Lena is just super.
And yes, in terms of appearance she's not the best in the air. I like Isis more, for example (I'm not a fan of catgirls, but Isis is actually quite something). It's more about a certain General style and character; Lena is just great. And yes, as I already mentioned, she is one of the best healers in the game—only Fif can probably compete with her. But Fif is from the "Eternals".

I really love the translation in Granblue. In the original, the pirate captain speaks like a normal person. In the translation, they gave her a stereotypical "pirate" way of speaking, with all the clichés. And you can hear in the voice acting that she speaks completely differently. Cygames, please.

I have a vague feeling that the translation there is done in the style of Google Translate.
