In total, I found many of them on the internet – about 2000. I immediately deleted maps of size S – they are too small and fast, not interesting. From M, L, and XL, the following were deleted: 1. "Bare" maps – maps with very low content. They consist of a completely flat and monotonous surface with sparse vegetation, few monsters, and few resources… In general, there is very little of everything, and it looks extremely poor… 2. "Jungle" – the opposite of "bare." The map is so overgrown with diverse vegetation that items lying on the ground are simply not visible. You have to move the mouse around, searching every centimeter. As soon as the cursor reacts, you can shout "hooray!" 3. "Square-nest" – a strange arrangement. The entire map seems to be divided by a ruler. Only straight lines and geometric shapes on the mini-map, even the trees are standing in a row, and the monsters are in ranks. Resources are also not scattered randomly but neatly stacked in piles. For example, there are immediately 20 chests and a bunch of resources. All this is surrounded by a fence. However, it takes several in-game days to run from such a "nest" to the next one. Monsters also gather in groups – either there are none at all, or there is a whole pack. 4. "Beautiful." All the "nature" on the map is designed so that it looks like some kind of drawing on the mini-map. Unfortunately, the map creators focused on this goal, forgetting about the overall convenience of playing the map. Only two remained in the collection – Nature's Revenge (looks like a mage with a staff riding on a horse) and The Dragon's Wrath (a dragon spewing fire). These are the only two examples that are both beautiful "on the outside" and "on the inside." 5. "Adventure." The goal of the game is not the standard "become the sole owner of all cities" (sometimes there are no cities at all), but to kill some villain or capture some object. As a rule, the hero appears in the middle of the road and begins to move towards the goal, capturing random dwellings of units of different races for his army. As a result, he arrives at the goal of his journey with some kind of motley crew. Well, he takes what he finds along the way. 6. "Island." The map consists of many small islands, each of which has a couple of resources and a couple of monsters. If it weren't for the "burning" of the remaining turn when boarding a ship and disembarking from it on the next island… The Gameplay mainly consists of clicking on the "hourglass." Get on the ship – click on the hourglass, get off on the island – click on the hourglass, pick up a piece of wood, get on the ship – click… Click, click, click… Click – and the map is in the trash. The remaining maps have been slightly edited: Various impassable roads have been removed (when there is some flower or stone in the middle of the road), the absence of any approaches to the city, impassable gates (missing keymaster tents have been added), various gates with unclear tasks in foreign languages, and other things that prevent you from picking up and capturing everything that should be picked up and captured and completing the map from start to finish have been removed. The only thing that the player might want to do in the Campaign Editor is to customize their starting cities, add or remove buildings, spells, etc. Or completely change the race of the city. This is a matter of personal preference. In total, there are only 48 maps left, but they are of high quality, richly filled, interesting, and, most importantly, without unpleasant "surprises."
