The article is very naive; it won't prove anything to esotericists. It will only resonate with those who are not sympathetic to this trend. And Oelm probably meant that the article has a poor start, and some of the concepts criticized in it are used not only in esotericism but also in Christianity, for example. Although, it's possible that esotericism gives the concepts of "soul" and "spirituality" a different meaning than Christianity; I don't know if that's the case, but if it is, then the article makes more sense, but it still won't convince esotericists.
