Olden Era
Ubisoft held a large-scale broadcast dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. The main announcement was the free demo version of Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, available on Steam. The demo includes four playable Factions, including the new Schism Faction, a tutorial mode, and three game modes without a time limit.
Other announcements included:
• Classic games in PC Game Pass — Heroes of Might and Magic II: Gold Edition and Heroes III: Complete Edition are now available to subscribers.
• Retrospective book — “Heroes of Might and Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective” from Dark Horse Publishing is available for pre-order (release date: November 25).
• Documentary film “Legacy of Heroes” — a film about the 30-year history of the series and its impact on players around the world, premiering on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel.
• Music — a vinyl collection of piano music from HoMM III by Paul Anthony Romero and a special concert by Heroes Orchestra featuring the 10 best tracks as voted by the Community.
• Board games — the HoMM III board game from Archon Studio will receive three new Factions in 2026, a card game has been launched on Gamefound, and a crowdfunding campaign for a tabletop role-playing game from Modiphius Entertainment is underway on Kickstarter.
• Fan mods — attention is being paid to the Horn of the Abyss, Day of Reckoning, and Heroes 7.5 projects.
• Figurines — detailed figurines of the Black Dragon and Archangel from Fusion Fantasy are in development.
