Olden Era
Four weeks into Early Access, the developers of HoMM: Olden Era have published a detailed roadmap covering the entire journey to the full release. The roadmap is divided into several stages, each bringing new mechanics, content and modes to the game.
Regular updates throughout Early Access: new neutral creatures, heroes, artifacts, spells, map objects, scenarios and much more.
Stage 1 (Q3 2026):
- Teamplay Mode — co-op play versus AI or other players.
- Advanced features for the Random Map Generator: map size, the amount of players and other options.
- Hero skills rebalance based on community feedback.
- Emote wheel update.
Stage 2 (Q4 2026):
- Matchmaking system rework — advanced options for matching players.
- Elite classes rework (the Subclass system).
- Observer Mode & Replays — watching other players' matches and replaying your own battles.
- Alternative Creature Upgrades rebalance.
Stage 3 (the road to version 1.0):
- Underground Layer — a classic Heroes mechanic: a separate map level with special terrain, unique objects and a new music theme.
- Thieves' Guild — scouting and gathering intel on your enemies.
- New neutral Tier 8 Creatures.
- Map Editor improvements — usability, stability and clarity.
- Ironman mode for the Campaign — a single save for the entire playthrough.
- Match statistics with post-match charts and data.
- The max level for spells will be increased from 4 to 5.
- Major hero specialization rework.
- Cities' models on the global map will change as they are upgraded.
- New win conditions in PVP.
Stage 4 (version 1.0, full release):
- Campaign acts 2 & 3 — a completed story.
- PVE Roguelike Mode — a new single-player format.
- Map Sharing support.
- Alternatives to Pick & Ban for PVP.
- New achievements and Steam perks.
The developers also noted that the balance patch mentioned earlier will arrive early next week.
