23 A.D.: Emergence of the Falcon Empire Falcon own name unites the human kingdoms and founds the Empire. Prophecy predicts that the dynasty of Falcon's descendants shall not end as long as the world stands.
28-40 A.D.: The Flame Wars - the first great invasion of demons Most angels perish in these wars. Survivors find refuge in the empire of Falcon, whose authorities increasingly turn away from Sylas - the Air Dragon - in favor of the Light Dragon.
48 A.D.: The empire of Falcon becomes "Holy" Foundation of the Free Cities of the East. Emperor Brian Falcon transfers absolute power to the cult of the Light Dragon. The human kingdom is renamed the Holy Empire of Falcon. Discontent grows among citizens who are forced to renounce their faith in Sylas. Many leave the lands of the empire and migrate to the Free Cities of the East.
Modern Era843 A.D.: 4th Eclipse, the last flight of Falcon Demons storm the capital of the Falcon empire and slaughter the royal family. Once their attack is repelled, civil strife begins among the noble houses striving to fill the vacant seat. Duke John Griffin seizes the blood-stained crown. The Empire is renamed the Holy Empire of Griffin.
951 A.D.: 5th Eclipse, war of the Grey Alliance A united army of Haven Knight and two other parties stand against the demon host. Pursuing the demons, Emperor Alexei Griffin descends into the Dungeon and perishes there. His soul is saved by a mysterious knight shrouded in legends, Tieri, who encases it in an artifact called the Heart of own same Griffin. Alexei's son, six-year-old Nikolai, ascends to the throne of the Empire.
969 A.D.: 6th Eclipse, war of Queen Isabel As a result of an eclipse that no calendar predicted, panic grips the population of the Empire. Large demon forces appear and march upon the capital of Haven. This period, known as the War of Queen Isabel, will be the theme of the Heroes of Might and Magic V Campaigns.
