I recently bought a licensed copy of Empire Total War. The box says "internet connection and a STEAM account are required for activation." There's no mention of how much time and bandwidth it will take. After installation and creating a STEAM account, it kindly informed me that it had started installing the game through itself, STEAM, meaning downloading 16 GB would take about 16 hours with a corresponding speed. :eek: And I don't have unlimited bandwidth. :( Moreover, this program also generates a significant amount of outgoing traffic. StarCraft 2 is nothing compared to it. I searched the internet for a solution. Reinstalling, restarting, and stopping the process didn't help. It stubbornly refuses to install the game from the disc. After installation, it automatically starts downloading its 16 GB. After losing 250 MB of traffic, I gave up and deleted everything I had installed. And while deleting, this pest corrupted my modem settings. :mad: System restore saved the day.

But you bought a license!

A good store with many PC games (I haven't ordered anything and don't plan to, it's easier to buy in a store or download, there are many options), and it's also convenient to play through it (like Counter-Strike or Left 4 Dead).

Buying them doesn't really make sense, as the prices are too high for most of our customers.

Now I have unlimited bandwidth, a good internet connection, and it works quickly, so I'm not complaining. And what do you think? My opinion of Pair hasn't changed one bit. It's the most sluggish program on my computer; I don't even use it anymore, but it still manages to annoy me. How? It simply starts every other time I boot up my computer and asks for my login and password, and then slowly and reluctantly exits my system without getting what it wants. And yet... the auto-start option is disabled. I just think that there are incompetent programmers who don't know how or don't want to create convenient applications that are fast, don't consume bandwidth, but still perform their job properly. The speed of the internet and everything else is irrelevant here. You just need to know how to code, not pile up all sorts of necessary and unnecessary libraries in the hope of accidentally getting something that resembles the intended result after fifty compilations.
However, Pair does have one advantage: the ability to transfer saves from one computer to another. This is useful for those who don't have a flash drive.
