Hello everyone! In general, I often read and hear from many, and I feel the same way, that racial skills often hinder character progression, not because of their unique features, but because they are required for other skills. And we all know (or at least I hope) that there is a pattern in how skills appear in the game. Accordingly, in the early stages, levels 1-5, it is often not possible to fully focus on racial skills (you can call them faction skills, but I'm more used to calling them racial skills; it doesn't change the essence). As a result, we have a situation where you can't take all the racial skills you need at the beginning because you need to take a more in-demand secondary skill, and then the racial skill simply doesn't appear again due to the pattern (predictability) of skill appearance. In general, after considering this unfortunate fact, I decided that it would be worth slightly reducing the blocking arrows in character development. Below, I'm posting screenshots of how I envision this. I don't consider my opinion to be the ultimate truth. That's why I decided to discuss it with others and hear their impressions and opinions on this issue. I'll say right away that by removing the lock on the dependence of skill learning on racial skills, we will bring the center perk closer to being obtained. According to my calculations, it will be possible to learn it about 2 levels earlier than in the original Heroes. I won't say that this makes me very happy; after all, center perks are powerful. But it doesn't upset me much either, because not only you will be able to get to it faster, but also your opponent =)

A lyrical digression: "Yes, I also made a similar table for the Orcs for discussion... but you know what? In my opinion, the Orcs turned out to be too OP, and in principle, they don't need any concessions in this regard, and we can leave the Orc faction branch unchanged. YES, that's it! (Orcs suck). This is purely a subjective opinion. I'm not against discussing this issue either =)

The suggestion is quite interesting, but won't it happen that a Hero can get a SU (super ability) earlier than usual, say around level 17-18? Also, I want to draw your attention to this topic: /topic/at/1125663/ The author worked on the mod for a long time, but couldn't implement it because he got confused with the variations

No, in the screenshot, he was just making captions =)
For all Factions, the central skill will be available at level 23 (by removing some of the faction's secondary skills as prerequisites for learning the center perk).

Regarding the branch you linked. Yes, I saw it; it’s very cool! I would also like to be able to move skills like that. Unfortunately, at the moment, all I can do is remove skill blockers (however, I don't want to break everything, so I haven't changed anything yet, but I have been thinking about doing something similar to what's shown in the screenshots).

I also encountered a problem: SkillVille doesn't recognize my changes. I looked into the mod to see what's going on... everything is coded using numbers, it's terrible =) I won't be able to figure out where and what to change. The only thing I think I can do to make my changes visible in the skill wheel is to add arrows in Photoshop indicating which skills are "required" to learn in order to progress to the center perk.

Added after 22 hours 34 minutes
I started with the Knight (so far, I've only done him).

And then a question arose... I removed the arrows in the skillwheel so that the Hero's actual progression would be displayed correctly on the wheel.

BUT! BUT!
The outdated icon (Experienced Warlord) is still highlighted.
YES, there is no arrow anymore, and intuitively it seems clear that if there is no arrow, then you don't need to learn "Experienced Warlord"...
But still, the highlighted icon is annoying and may mislead.

In short... I couldn't figure out how to highlight what displays accurate information and not highlight what shouldn't be highlighted. So, I wrote an explanation. Of course, this isn't exactly what I wanted. But at least it draws attention and explains that you should trust the arrows =)

The idea itself is good. But where is the mod? I want to see this creation, and I don't care about the skill level. I'll figure it out myself.
