It's hard without a portal to the town – I took the scroll, but it only works from level 35 and with 100 mana,
and leveling up several combat heroes is difficult.
(I also struggled with this problem on the "Ice and Flame" map at one time.)

It's tough without a portal to the town - I took the scroll, but it's only available from level 35 and requires 100 mana.

I had to send Sigmor himself to his death.
But according to the map conditions, is it possible for a guild hero to be killed?
Sure, as long as he is hired in the tavern on the same day.
Xaltotun, and why a Knight, not a Demon?
tried playing as the Necromancer on veteran difficulty - the start is easier than even for the Haven faction - I managed to outpace the AI in hero development).
The Necromancer learned Vampirism at level 5 in the magic school, and I bought Mind Control from a merchant on the map. It was challenging to capture the Demon Castle. Jezebel kept opening portals endlessly. But the Ring of Exile made the task easier for me. And before this map, I considered this artifact a useless trinket.
Orcs can't read scrolls; they are not taught literacy. They can only shout at their minions, so I had to walk around the cities... I had travel spells disabled on the map. I can buy them by spending resources, but I can't use them.
But this moment was even interesting. As a role-playing element.
I had a lot of trouble with the enemy Necromancers – they cast Mind Control on everything that moved. I tried to deploy Cyclops against them. But I didn't deploy these terrible creatures during the castle siege. I like to play until my last unit. And these Cyclops will break through the gates ahead of time with their clubs, and all the inhabitants of the castle will face a very quick end.
Thank you to the author for the excellent map!
I will play it again later with other factions, depending on my mood.
I stopped playing after 100 dragons joined; it became uninteresting.
If you cycle through all the heroes in the tavern in a couple of weeks, you can probably recruit him. In short, Necropolis is probably the easiest faction on this map.
Krusso, try playing as Haven (hero - Rupert). Considering his 2 specializations, your chances of winning will increase significantly + with this hero, the scroll: Portal to Town works.
And the witches' coven is located not far from the entrance to the dungeon.
I tried Rupert on a Barbarian. It was a complete joke! In my opinion, it's an absolutely useless race with its counterattack; on this map, the specialization is useless. What second specialization are we talking about? The Ballista, yes, 3 shots are cool! The first Demon won on week 3; he had upgraded machines that immediately destroyed the gates, and his ballista buried half of my army. Now that's what I call a specialization!)))) I even lasted longer playing as Dwarves. When I played as Barbarians, there were no attacks at all; they didn't even dare.
Of course, everyone has their own tactics and playing style. I'm not imposing my opinion on anyone.
1) this is the ballista - you know about it;
2) increased attack damage with the hero's level. Very useful
Tried Rupert with the Barbarian. Well, it's just ridiculous. Absolutely useless race, in my opinion, with its counterattack.
