Not sure if this has been discussed before, but here's the situation: playing, opponent saves, we load... it doesn't ask for a password and loads, and it turns out that the game loads without asking for passwords from either side. Has anyone else encountered this?
I'm experiencing the exact same situation right now, waiting for a solution to this problem. Also, it seems to be deleting the folder with the saved games!
I think we already discussed this. The password for a save file is lost if you uncheck the box for password-protected saves when loading the game. However, this shouldn't happen with the save folder. Were there actually save files there? Sometimes, after updating the HD mod, the checkbox for daily saves disappears.
I installed HoMM3 HD Latest. When I click to change the language to Russian, an error occurs. When I click on the HD+ mod, an error also occurs. An error occurs when I click on any button.
I downloaded HoMM3 HD Latest, ran the installer, installed it, and launched HD_Launcher. I clicked "Update" and it crashed. I downloaded HoMM3 HD Latest again, ran the installer, installed it, and launched HD_Launcher. I clicked "Play" and it crashed again. What am I doing wrong?
I downloaded Heroes 3 Complete, installed the HD mod on top of it. When launching and running the game, the first of the four processor cores is loaded to 100%. The other cores don't react at all. The core heats up to a maximum of 50 degrees, but the fan starts whining as if all four cores are loaded, although they are at zero. If Heroes is running in a window, opening any item in the top menu seems to remove focus from the game, and the core returns to normal. As soon as you refocus on the game, the core is immediately loaded to 100%. But switching between windows doesn't affect the game, and the core is loaded to 100% even when the game is minimized. The same situation occurs without windowed mode. The processor is an i5 3470. About four hours ago, I installed Heroes 3 SoD with HD mod 3.something (from heroes3tv), and everything worked perfectly. I reinstalled the OS, and the problem with Heroes 3 Complete and HD mod 4.++ remains.
P.S. Without the HD mod, everything works perfectly; maybe this problem existed before, and someone solved it. I would be glad to know the details. Thank you in advance.
Or maybe there is an older version of the HD mod (version 3.++), and I would like to try installing it on a clean Heroes 3 Complete.

I installed version 3.811 build 5, and everything works perfectly; the processor core doesn't overheat. Will I be able to play with other players using this mod on a newer HD mod?

The problem with the core starts when updating from version 3.811 build 5 to version 4.202 RC4 and in all subsequent updates.
The map is called "Searches of the lost city". I finish my turn, and when it's the purple player's turn, the game crashes, and it happens constantly. I've tried rolling back, making different moves, but it still crashes on that day.
Maybe someone can suggest what the problem is. I've uploaded the log file: https://www.sendspace.com/file/w4waon
Decided to write about it here. Today, in a game against Twaryna, after playing a match with another opponent, I was browsing a save file with cheats enabled. Everyone knows the bug where, after a single-player game with a cheat activated for full city development, the effect of the cheat persists in multiplayer mode if the game isn't restarted. This can be used to great advantage: after saving and before continuing with an opponent, launch the game in single-player mode and activate that cheat. Then, without closing the game, connect to the opponent or host the game yourself. If you have a Tower as a city, you can see the entire map; if you simply have cities with a Guild Master up to level 5, you can check where you'll get the spells you need right away, so you know where to build. Then, you say there was a crash or disconnect, or just come up with something (like, "I remembered something, let's start over and I'll reload"). The main thing is not to pass the turn and not get caught.)
First of all, baratorch, thank you very much for your work! Your effort is a great example of how one capable person can do better than crowds of hired programmers and millions of dollars in investment.
Now, about the problem. The cursor is very small for some reason, and it doesn't scale with everything else. (Searching for mentions of this problem didn't yield any results, so I'm asking.)
I tried unchecking and rechecking the "system cursor" box, and I didn't mess around with the text tweaker. I'm using the latest version. Can you tell me where to look for a solution?
In the second game, HW_rules 1.37 doesn't allow using spells from scrolls, even though the required guild level is set. Are there any known cases of this, and how can it be fixed?

This is a known bug, which is why HW_rules 1.38 was created, as it fixes this issue.
