New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
...can offer advice based on my experience running CIS tournaments...
Well, if this is the same person from Sochi, then yes, it's quite engaging... I would like to have more options and not at the last moment. There is an option with Yekaterinburg, but with details, contact Sergey freeshe.
Будьте осторожны со своими желаниями. Иногда они исполняются.

If the option with Yekaterinburg works, I'll take care of it and provide all the information within a week; there are enough venues.
But I'll say right away that I'm against excessive alcohol consumption, so if I do it, the focus will be on a Heroes tournament.

But I'll make a reservation right away: I'm against excessive alcohol consumption, so if I organize it, the focus will be on a Heroes tournament.

Will alcohol be prohibited?
No, of course not. It's just that alcohol consumption and the location of the tournament will be different. Therefore, where they play Heroes (some kind of hall), they play Heroes, not poker or some other game, but Heroes.
For poker, I can gather feedback from those who are particularly interested, invite professional dealers for a few days (for a fee), and rent tables or felt.
For the drinking part, there will be rooms, a restaurant (cafe), a street, a forest, pine trees, and other delights of life.
P.S. Please note - this is just my vision of the situation; everyone may disagree, and I won't insist. I just don't want to organize things in chaos (it's too much trouble for the organizer to run around and watch over grown men).
It might be a surprise to some, but a CIS event was already held in Yekaterinburg! Therefore, the options with bases have likely been considered. To avoid redoing a large amount of work, contact Merlin; I think he can advise you on what and how. The base we used was too far from the city, about 40 minutes by car, if I remember correctly.
+1 for Yekaterinburg in 2017 and Odessa in 2018! Let's do it again! :smile14:
The prospects in Sochi are too vague.
