Posts from Thrash Metal – what’s your opinion on it?

It's strange that there isn't a thread on this subforum. There are threads about black metal and melodic death metal, but there isn't one about thrash metal. And it's one of the main genres of metal. There should be a thread.
My opinion: this is one of my favorite genres of metal. "Chugging," often palm-muted riffs, often a fast tempo, staccato on the drums, and diverse vocals depending on the band. That's how I would characterize this genre.

He's not very familiar with thrash; he listened to Sodom a couple of years ago and liked their 2006 album, especially the song City of God \m/
In the summer, he downloaded the discographies of Metallica and Megadeth and has been listening to them every day since, and he enjoys them.

I listened to Metallica's new album once. But it seems like there are only three thrash songs. “Hardwired,” “Moth into Flame,” and “Spit Out the Bone.” All the other songs are just heavy metal with elements of thrash.

Now, every morning starts with Hardwired for me :D Has the full album been released yet? I'll check it out soon.

I listened to it too – I completely agree. But I think the album is good overall.
Thorenlawar, have you listened to Trivium? It was mentioned that they play metalcore with a generous dose of thrash (albums from 2006 and 2008). What do you think, can their music be described that way? I think so, because I haven't heard anything similar before.

Well, at least one song, please. I really like Trivium's 2008 album Shogun, could you at least rate the title track from it? I just want to finally understand if it's possible to say that there are elements of thrash in their music.
I haven't listened to Overkill, but our discussion inspires me to get to know this genre better. I would just like to start with a more thorough listening of Sodom.

It’s better to listen to the first and last 10 seconds of a track and then say it’s garbage.

Overkill's new album is out. I listened to it, and it turned out to be very good. It's full of drive, energy, and power. Much of it is in the spirit of Overkill. But there are deviations in the fifth song and in the song that shares the album's name, and this only adds to its appeal. Because having the same thing in every song can make some people bored. The most impressive songs for me are the first one (I don't like to spoil things), "Our Finest Hour," "Shine On," and "The Grinding Wheel."
