Independence Day: Resurgence
Overall, for a movie of this genre – a completely nonsensical and idea-less intergalactic action film – the movie fully lives up to expectations. The special effects, as always, are pleasing to the eye, the dialogue scenes are not bad, and a certain amount of humor occasionally perfectly lightens the atmosphere. Of course, some moments turned out to be completely illogical, or rather, illogical from the point of view of presenting the plot, and, in my opinion, they could have been made better, more spectacular, and more interesting. However, this does not spoil the overall impression much. I went to see a spectacle – and that’s what I got. 7.5/10

I rewatched it countless times, just because I can. Take my enthusiasm for "WALL-E," multiply it by one and a half or two (because "WALL-E" is a really great cartoon), and you'll get my opinion about this cartoon, as well as about "Aibolit" and "Vrunzel" from the same studio.
+ Satirical, fun, great songs, great style, design, action, lots of cool jokes, interesting details, awesome character designs, what more can I say, it's just a timeless classic. I want the same map that Doctor Livesey boasted about.
- With such a style, it's hard to tell what's a bug and what's a feature, but there were a few glitches that were more likely bugs. But who cares.
= An epic classic, 1000/10. The atmosphere of the book is hopelessly lost, but it was worth it. It turned out to be a stylish, satirical, exciting, and mind-blowing thing, very much for a specific audience, but incredibly masterful.
As a bonus, I'll share the inside of the cover of my book. As a child, I really liked that all the characters were drawn and signed there. Only "A Wizard of Earthsea" and "The Lord of the Rings" were better, where there was an entire map drawn inside the cover. Yes, there are traces of orange juice - all my favorite childhood books are tattered and stained to an unseemly state.

Another epic, timeless classic and childhood cartoon. + All the same great things: awesome songs, characters, lots of funny gags and cool stuff, satirical parodies, and other joys of life. - But there are some minor flaws, like sudden costume changes, and many interesting details from the book were omitted to suit the plot. = 146/10, a truly timeless masterpiece. Unlike "The Island," the atmosphere here is quite consistent with the book, although the Italian mafia was only featured in a small episode, and the main conflict was with the Japanese Admiral Kusaki and his friends. However, the plot was completely turned upside down, but this actually turned out to be a good thing, because the original story wasn't as dynamic or cohesive, although I do miss some of the funny moments from it. Epic.



Out of the three, it's a stretch to call this cartoon a childhood favorite, because I watched it for the first time in middle school, snuggled up with a pillow, while I watched the other two endlessly from preschool age. Why did this happen? For some unknown reason, I was terribly afraid of cannibals, and even the mention of Barmaley was enough to make me throw a tantrum and run away to hide. Now I laugh about it, but back then it was really scary. Well, I guess I was a mean little brat, I missed out on a great cartoon, but at least I caught up. + I won't list the same things again, but it's really awesome. - Besides the minor flaws and the wild mix of Chukovsky's classics, which would probably make him turn over in his grave a hundred times, my personal complaint is that sometimes the characters start speaking in verse, and I don't really like that. When the whole cartoon is silent or sung, I can still tolerate it, but I'm not thrilled, and poems are just awful. Although, I enjoy many other cartoons with poems and ask for more. = Still 146/10. Judging by the pirates, this is a very loose adaptation of the prose story about Aibolit, which Chukovsky freely translated based on some classic work by a Western writer. But it turned out great, another dose of crazy fun for Koshi, woohoo.

Honestly, I promise to stop spamming with these silly cartoons, or at least try to. But I'll remember another childhood favorite.



I watched everything countless times, except for the later series about hockey, which seemed somewhat derivative to me – probably because of the reappearance of the villain and the fact that the main trio somehow got lost (although they also got lost in the football episode, but there they managed to pull it off thanks to the national flavor).
+ Fun, stylish, beautiful, expressive, with a bright national flavor and likable characters.
- Hmm, someone might criticize the fact that none of the characters say a single word throughout the cartoon; at best, they let the off-screen narrator speak. Although this bothered me as a child, I still adore this cartoon.
= 10/10. It doesn't evoke the same level of delight as the three timeless classics mentioned above, but it's still awesome. The main highlight, as I see it, is the portrayal of different countries and nations, as well as the emphasis on simple Cossack ingenuity and youthful daring.
By the way, the main characters have names, and I only learned about this recently; all my life, they were just "Shorty" (or "Low"), "Tall," and "Big" (or "Fat") to me, haha.

I watched Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. The second film (A Game of Shadows) is better than the first, but in both, he overacts too much. I got tired of this overacting Robert Downey Jr. even in Iron Man, so it wasn't necessary for him to play the same role for the hundredth time. As for the rest: the music creates a decent atmosphere, and the detective story is okay. Action... Does anyone care about action in a Holmes movie? Not me, at least. Although there were a couple of funny moments, yes, but realism a-la the film with Livanov clearly wins in this genre.
Oh yes, and in the second film, Stephen Fry appeared, and I was even happy at first. But then he started walking around naked in the frame, and I changed my mind.

I watched the movie The Martian, which, of course, I subconsciously want to compare to Interstellar. Which one is better? Definitely not the latter, God forbid. In the end, even though I liked Interstellar, it's a typical Nolan film; it's not really about space, it's about the music, the pathos, the cool (and not-so-cool) phrases, some tense moments even if the action is weak, and so on. The Martian, on the other hand, starts much more engagingly and from the very beginning aims to tell a story about space – yes, when I look at Matt Damon's character, I believe that this is exactly how professional astronauts behave and think. Of course, watching Matt grow potatoes for two and a half hours wouldn't be very interesting, so we also see the situation on Earth and on the spaceship Hercules, which prevents the viewer from getting bored by watching only one actor. The narrative is interesting, everything in the film is in its place, and it has quite a lot of humor for what seems like a serious work, which makes it extremely enjoyable to watch. And if we compare it to Interstellar again, I much preferred the attempt at beautiful and colorful special effects compared to the imitation of 2001, where everything exudes some kind of, I don't know, artificiality? You just watch it and see the set where all these toys were filmed with a 20x magnification to make them look real. There is none of that in The Martian. A wonderful film, in a word.

I watched the movie Maleficent. What can it teach the younger generation?
1) A man is not capable of truly loving a woman.
2) Only a woman can truly love another woman.
3) If a woman is unconscious next to a man, he will take advantage of her for his dirty purposes.
4) The only thing that can restore a woman's mental health after this is to kill that man.
