I liked how the previous expansion for my champion turned out.

No preferences have emerged yet regarding which country to offer future services to.
I'm still considering the best approach: allow players to choose one country from a list on the first page before the game starts, or start the game in a "certain location" where they can then decide through role-playing where to work. The second option has the drawback that events unfold in a specific chronological order, meaning that some countries may not need mercenary services at certain starting dates. On the other hand, it's a more interesting option.

Well, I would help either Ilinar or Ninsharia. The former are just nice guys, and the latter are quite wealthy and located dangerously close to Yochelton. Besides, they are unlikely to face war with Sintaan in the early stages, so one less dangerous enemy.

My characters are currently being designed with some magic abilities, so I am, to some extent, a warlock. However, I have doubts about playing as a pure mage. But a pure mage would definitely be an Ishanad.
