Although the mortality rate of player characters is quite high in my games, I always feel a bit uneasy when it happens, because I realize how attached their creators can become to them. But if aggressive actions against the environment remain unpunished and any adventure is devoid of risk, the game will become a walk through a corridor without any intrigue. In other words, according to the game's design and mechanics, this is "not how it should be." Of course, nothing prevents me from making an exception (taking into account that this is the first death and it did not occur due to beheading or something similar), but another issue arises here, which is that it would not be very fair to other players.
