New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?

Hello!
Cleared the dungeon, taking the rune back – approaching the first portal (to Arantir) when a hero-knight appears, and the game freezes, that’s it, I’m done playing =(. Some controls still work, but I can’t do anything, the turn doesn’t start.
But here's the problem, which is why I'm writing and even registered. I cleared the Dungeon, I'm taking the rune back - as I approach the first portal (to Arantir), a knight hero appears - and the game freezes, that's it, I'm done playing =(. Some controls still work, but I can't do anything, the turn doesn't start. And if this is some unknown bug, I'm just curious - how did it end for everyone else? I need to continue the campaign (Unicorn Empire).
Today I started playing this scenario and also encountered a bug that causes the game to crash. I'm playing with a hero, I reached the seventh day of the second week, and it kept crashing at Lorenzo's position near the Marletto tower, not far from the garrison of my home castle. I tried to go back to an earlier save and not approach the tower, I skipped a turn, and it seems like the game continued. If it crashes again, I'll let you know.
[br][/br]Crashes and bugs are a slightly different issue. There can be many different reasons for them. Perhaps a mod is affecting the game, or maybe the game didn't save properly, or it's just a software error. I regularly encounter this problem myself – there's no one-size-fits-all solution, but I can offer two recommendations: clear the folder with mods/maps and save more often.
The question is, will it be necessary to level up the Darkness skill in it? Or is it better to focus on Light this time?
For starters, you can read through the thread. There's a lot written there, and you might find your answer. But here, you have the freedom to create: boost whatever you want, even "Retribution" and "with a Fallen Knight" at the same time.
Well, I finished this map! RedHeavenHero, thank you very much for the work you've done! I really liked your idea to develop the concept of the final mission of the Lords of the North on the same map, with an underground level and a new plot; it was quite unusual to play as the other side. I hope you will continue to delight us with such high-quality ideas in the future! The idea is truly amazing! To create an alternative campaign based on the original campaigns, to look at familiar heroes and places from a different perspective, playing as the other side or as a different character. Like in such add-ons to famous games as Half-Life and F.E.A.R. The best thing is that you managed to convey the atmosphere of the campaign so well that, not knowing that you created this map, I would have taken it for 100% work by Nival, so the level of the map is very high, on par with the developers :) I can imagine how much time and effort you put into this creation :) I once created a campaign for Kreg Hack in the third Heroes game, so I have some idea of what it's like to be a creator =))
Now, I'll write about the walkthrough itself. At first, I wanted to play as a hero, but it turned out to be something unrealistic for me, because I didn't have enough troops to break through the machine workshop, so I restarted the map and started playing as a warrior. Before starting the walkthrough, I read this thread with messages from other players, and from the author in particular, and I realized that on this map, everything depends on the correct development, which is basically in line with the canons of the original campaigns. And therefore, I started developing Varens along this path: Skilled Counterstrike, Great Luck, Magic Resistance, Expert Leadership, Empathy, Attack Expert, Tactics, Battle Frenzy, Retribution, Defense Expert, Stamina, Solid Defense, Readiness. And, of course, Dark Magic Expert, Mind Lord, Curse Lord, and Fallen Knight. I fully upgraded all these skills to level 32. And playing as a knight with Empathy and Retribution + Readiness, it's just awesome) I destroyed superior squads and was even surprised at how much damage the army commanded by the knight inflicts. Varens' special ability also helped a lot; without it and without dark magic, it would have been difficult even with such great perks. The map is small, but due to the lack of boots and logistics, it took as much as 8 months to complete, I was even surprised, my longest playthrough was 5 months, and here it's 8 months :))
PS I assume that the final video can be attributed to the moment when Biara is already dead, and Frida and Duncan are the new rulers of the empire, according to the plot? Because in the video, Varens calls Duncan king.
PS 2 Now the Unicorn campaign is next, and I also plan to use the current Varens build there :) The only question is, will I need to upgrade Dark Magic in it? Or is it better to choose Light Magic this time?
My impressions of the game: perhaps the author will find it interesting.
Overall, I liked the map; it's well done! Excellent concept, and generally, everything is top-notch.
I started playing with a hero.
The spells for the main hero mainly protect the archers (druids, monks), I don't know if it's intentional or not, who move faster than me, and consequently, eliminate a significant portion of the army. Losing an army with such meager reinforcements was not part of my plans, so I naturally avoided many outposts. I reached the garrison where I'm not allowed to proceed further into the Dungeon. I came here to read. I read. After that, my interest in the map disappeared:
1) To complete the map, you need to develop the hero in a specific way (like with the Dungeon faction), but there are no hints within the map itself, except for insider information. (some information on signs, clues, etc.) If that's the case, there should still be the possibility of completing the map with variable hero builds. I've played difficult maps with the Dungeon faction - well, yes, everything is clear there, and it's winnable. But that's already been done.
2) The second remark is for the map in general. (it's noticeable even in the first month and a half, and if you read about the players' experiences, it should only get worse). To successfully complete the map, you have to replay many, even minor, battles. That is, you have to attack superior forces, and to win successfully, you have to rely on a lucky outcome, rather than your own intelligence. I don't like this style of replaying 5 times, and it also indicates that the balance is not right.
3) A general lack of information. All information MUST be WITHIN the map without any references to external sources. For example: yes, most things can be completed without problems with Lorenzo, but WHERE is it written that there should be 200 archers? How am I supposed to find that out within the map?
I was hoping players would adjust the difficulty level to suit themselves.
