Most likely, the issue is that you have different versions of the game.
If you have the same versions of the game, try looking through the Hamachi settings; something might be configured incorrectly there.

I don't know if a similar answer has been given before, but I'll still post it – maybe it will help someone. I had a problem where two computers on a local network had the same version of Heroes 3 installed, and they played normally for a long time. Then, they updated to the Observer's version, and suddenly! Everything freezes when trying to connect. Even on the old version! I tried resetting the TCP/IP settings, deleted all versions, and installed a regular build with the HD mod. Now everything works.

For a cleaner experiment, try not just disabling the antivirus, but uninstalling it! Then reinstall it. As for the firewall, disable it in the services – stop it and set it to "Disabled." If we're talking about the built-in Windows firewall, or uninstall it if it's Comodo, Agnitum, etc.

Just recently, a friend and I wanted to play, but couldn't because he installed Norton Security, and even after "disabling" it, it didn't help until he completely uninstalled it.

Hi. I have a question. I have a desktop and a laptop, both running Windows 8.1. The game runs fine on the laptop, but on the desktop, it constantly lags, freezes, and doesn't keep up with mouse movements. The desktop is much more powerful than the laptop, but it's impossible to play the game on it. Maybe I need to adjust some settings? I've tried running it with different graphics settings, but it's still the same.
Update: I noticed that it freezes when I move the mouse. All animations stop while the mouse is moving, even the hero's movement. And for it to work properly, I have to stop the mouse or hold it over an object.
