Since I love the Dark Elf faction, and I like dragons, firstly, they have very high health and defense, and if you add Artifacts and Skills to that, then it's generally almost an immortal creature. Secondly, they deal a lot of damage and have a high attack power; adding Artifacts and Skills makes them even more dangerous – don’t get in their way. Of course, there are three small drawbacks (three minuses can turn into pluses if you know how to use them). 1. There aren’t many of them, and even one dragon is a lot for the main hero of the Dark Elves. 2. They cost a lot. One Twilight Dragon costs 5000-10000 gold, and not everyone has that much money. 3. They have breath attacks, which means you can hit not only the enemy but also your own soldiers if they are standing BEHIND the opponent. But if you “Tame” this drawback (roughly speaking, learn to control it), this minus can become a plus. What was so overpowered about them?

The fact that in Lords of the North, they healed when they killed an enemy, and that they had huge damage and speed – that's a real competitor for the Black Dragon.
But I liked the Knights of Isabel the most; they are strong :smile17:

At level five and three, it wasn't that great... But in the first game, it was awesome, even though it was still purple back then.

Part 5 - no, they are in 4th place (lava dragon is in 3rd place, red dragons are in 2nd place, and archangels are in 1st place). Part 6 - I haven't played it, but I think they are strong there.

Black dragons have an initiative of 10, and they don't even make it into the top five creatures of level 7. The Emerald and Crystal dragons, both with an initiative of 14, are much stronger.

I disagree; while Black dragons are strong, they still lose to their Red counterparts, and they also lose to the lava dragon.

in the third part, the strongest is the Azure Dragon (1000 HP) and the Dracolich (less HP, but it shoots!! :eek: )

I don't quite agree with the top 5... immunity to magic is worth a lot...
although, of course, the lava shield is also a terrible thing... it deals 40% damage from the damage dealt... it's very dangerous when you have a lot of them, and there is nothing to shoot them with...

Black dragons would generally be useful creatures for Warlocks if not for one circumstance. Specifically, for some reason, "Irresistible Magic" affects their units. Because of this, the "Armageddon" spell will become extremely powerful.

In a confrontation between the black and red dragons, it's difficult to say which is better. The black dragon has immunity to magic, which means that chaos magic, dark magic, and divine retribution from light magic will not affect it. As for the summoning school, only one spell really matters in the late game – Phantom, and even then, it only makes sense to use it on the knight's steeds. Its drawbacks include the fact that, firstly, the dark elf's Armageddon spell pierces the dragon's immunity, making it less effective, and secondly, buffs cannot be applied to the black dragon. The most common buffs that could be applied to the black dragon are the witch's punishing strike and the bonus from the dwarf king's set, which grants expert-level stone skin and 70% dodge. The red dragon has no immunity, but buffs can be applied to it, and it can attack with 1.5 times the damage, and even without retaliation. For example, if you apply the witch's punishing strike to it, it will receive a +45% damage bonus, which is then multiplied by 1.5 from the burning skill, resulting in more than a 2x increase in damage. The main drawback of the red dragon is that it needs to stand still to attack, while the enemy will attack other units to avoid being hit by the dragon's ability, and it will most likely only be possible to use it when all other units are already dead, except perhaps for hydras.

Punishing Strike grants a bonus to attack, and the damage bonus is calculated based on it and the enemy's defense.

The dragon acts on the troops like a red rag to a bull. It cannot be taken down with magic, and it is immune to control and blinding effects, which means we have to immediately send all our soldiers against it. And while the enemy is busy killing dragons (and let them – we don't mind), we will destroy their army. We can get closer and skillfully disable their main forces. We kill the main units, and they only kill a dragon.

I also like black dragons. But they are difficult to build.
