Tournament Dates:
12.05.2015 - 25.08.2015, calculated as 1 week per registered participant.

Please report all difficulties and delays immediately in this thread.

Map generation is performed using the current version of IRMG with a huge size template.
IRMG Settings:
1."Zones Compatibility Factor" = 1.5
2."Monster Strength Factor" = 1.0
3."Portal Connection Only" - off (button not pressed)
3."No obstacles On Map" - off
4."Sigle Faction Guard" - Off
5."Selected Faction guard only" - off
6."Different Faction" - on
7."Disable Intant Travel" - off
8."Chaos week" - off

Game Settings:
Turn time limit – 10 minutes.
Animation speed – 5.
Fast combat – enabled.
Simultaneous turns – enabled.
Dynamic combat – disabled.
Ghost mode – disabled.
Autosave – enabled.
Game difficulty – hero

You may play against any tournament participant in any order.

Reasons for a player to be excluded from the tournament:
- failure to comply with the regulations and rules of this tournament;
- violation of tournament deadlines without prior notification to the tournament judge;
- fact of violating prohibitions in this tournament;
- rudeness, public insult of the organizer, judge, or tournament participants.
Replacement of dropped participants is possible. The result of the dropped participant is transferred as "inheritance" to the new participant joining the tournament.

Tournament Rules.
1. Games are played on the latest official version of the game. Currently – HoMM V: Tribes of the East 3.1, with the Tournament Edition mod used in this tournament. By default, the game is played on the Ubi server. By agreement, the game may be played via Hamachi, Remobo, COMODO EasyVPN, GameRanger, and similar programs.

2. Since there is an autosave in the game - it is recommended to save once every 3 days.

3. THE TOURNAMENT IS CONDUCTED IN A ROUND-ROBIN FORMAT. Each participant plays everyone else once. One week + 4 days are given per match.
Players agree on colors BEFORE MAP GENERATION. If an agreement on color is not reached between players, refer to the judge.
TEMPLATE SELECTION - set to RANDOM during map generation. Faction SELECTION - set to RANDOM during map generation.

4. The use of any bugs, undocumented features, cheat codes, as well as unofficial programs and modifications, except for the TE mod itself (and programs creating virtual networks), is prohibited.

5. In case of connection loss or game crash, the last autosave is loaded; players are required to exactly repeat all their moves up to the moment of connection loss or crash. If a connection loss or crash occurs on the first day of the game, heroes are randomly assigned again.

6. In battles between players, a stalemate situation may arise (where neither player can win). In this situation, the attacking side must retreat or surrender (at their discretion). If the Shackles of War artifact is involved in the battle, then in a stalemate situation, the battle should be finished in AutoCombat mode.

7. Each player is entitled to 3 restarts with map regeneration no later than the third day (the end of the day is considered the pressing of the turn-end button, regardless of whether the opponent has completed their current turn or not); after a restart, races and templates are set to RANDOM again. If a restart is taken on 1-1-1, the player has 2 days of restarts for the next map (meaning they can take another 2 restarts on 1-1-1, or 1 restart on 1-1-2). If a restart is taken on 1-1-2, the player has 1 day of restarts for the next map (meaning they can take 1 more restart on 1-1-1). If a restart is taken on 1-1-3, the player has no restart days for the next map.
Simultaneous turn disconnection or desync in week 1 - technical restart (except cases where both players are ready to continue).
Simultaneous turn disconnection or desync in week 2 and later - game continues (except cases where both players are ready to start over).

8. "Red-rush" is prohibited, meaning an attack by the red player on the first day of the week with purchased growth (the red player may attack on the first day, but without purchasing growth).

9. Any joining of neutrals is prohibited; as an exception, joined units can be sacrificed into a pit or sold at the market.

10. It is prohibited to use the "Astral Gates" world spell to jump from any zone into the opponent's starting zone if the portal/garrison connecting them has not been breached. It is also prohibited to use the "Astral Gates" world spell to jump to an adjacent zone of the opponent and enter the opponent's starting zone on the same turn.

11. Pressing wait on Krag's first strike in battles with opponent heroes is prohibited; it is allowed against neutrals.

12. Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw.

13. Attention! LOADS ARE PROHIBITED in this tournament!!
Exception: a mutual agreement on the number of loads has been reached by both players. If, despite the agreement on the number of loads, players have disagreements about the outcome of the game (win/loss) due to loads, the tournament judges reserve the right to decide the outcome of the game.

Template Schemes
Huge size Templates

If all creatures of both players die at the end of a battle / final battle, the victory goes to the one who performed the last action on the battlefield (for example, cast Armageddon, broke a crystal, hit with lava dragon creatures and died from same-fire shield damage).
Three points are awarded for a win, one for a draw.

The tournament winner, as well as the runners-up (2nd-3rd place) - those who scored the most points from 1st to 3rd place. In case of equal points, the following order of criteria is used to determine the tournament winner:
- Berger coefficient;
- head-to-head match.

The winner of the duel writes the report on the played game. The defeated party must confirm it. It is desirable to record the final battle; in a disputed situation, it may help the Tournament judges.
The report on the played game should be formatted as follows:
Player1 (faction, main hero(es)) def. | lost Player2 (faction, main hero(es)) - Template, month-week-day
where def. indicates victory, lost indicates defeat
The report may also contain a brief description of interesting moments in the game.
Example
kontra (Dungeon, Sinitar) lost Sir_Moz (Sylvan, Wyngaal) - Spiral, 2-1-6
or
Vsev (Лига Теней, Iranna) def. Bradiaga (Haven, Axel) - Spider, 1-4-2

Reports must be provided by both players.

I suggest removing the new map from the list of templates and playing with the old one. It would be good to determine the color choice method by drawing lots before the start of the tournament.

Suggestion regarding restarts – a total of up to 113 for each – this would be perfect for a full random game. (Otherwise, it might generate some unfavorable starting conditions – you restart, and then you get a bad starting town based on race). Maybe the color could also be changed after the restart.
P.S.: I won't be playing this summer.

/topic/8845/ about IRMG

Copy the files TE_6.7.h5u and TE_wheel_6.7.h5u into the UserMODs folder.

The Maps folder should not contain any files except for the generated map itself...

If you register for a tournament, you need to play, not "sabotage"...

It makes sense to practice before the start of the tournament by registering for a regular tournament:

I suggest removing the new summer template from the list and using the old summer template. It would be good to determine the color choice method by drawing lots before the start of the tournament.
I just don't know where to get the old one...

Point 7 needs to be changed to account for the fact that we are playing with random maps. Probably, upon restarting, the next map is simply selected. P.S. Regarding Letos – if the template is bad, it should be removed, but we shouldn't revert to the old one – I haven't played with the old one in ages. There were probably some reasons why Letos was changed.

Clause 7 needs to be changed considering that we're playing random. Probably on restart we simply take the next map.
P.S. Regarding Letos - if the template is bad, it should be deleted, but not revert to the old one - I haven't played on the old one in a hundred years. There must have been some reasons why Letos was changed.
The reasons were to make a template without ГО. But as a result, it turned out that if it deals long roads along respawn and adjacent zones (which often happens with two portals), it results in a linear game without the ability to quickly reach the opponent, to pressure them via ГО or an alternative passage. The template became, in my opinion, definitely worse on average. Essentially the whole change was to remove ГО and add an additional mini-treasure.

We need to change point 7 to account for the fact that we are playing with random maps. Probably, upon restarting, the next map is simply chosen.

Point 7, if you read it carefully, states that "the next map is chosen." However, I agree with Johnny that it should be extended to 113.
Regarding Letos, I am strongly against removing it, let alone reverting to the old one. I think we can include a clause stating that this template is included in the list with the mutual consent of the players.

Regarding Letos and the difficulty of quickly reaching an opponent – I just played with Dmitry, and he reached me with Krag on week 3. Or rather, we met in my industrial zone, which is very close to my city. I don't know if it was just how this particular map was generated, but it happened. P.7 – yes, it has already been fixed. Restart on map 113 – it often happened that the dwellings were located far apart; I would have restarted, but it was already too late. Perhaps we should vote – if we change it directly, we might get backlash from the community.

That’s exactly what I’m saying – it results in a linear build without a Grand Order (GO). Your opponent attacks, and you usually don’t have room to maneuver because the GO is missing. The fact that he came to attack you on week 3 without going home to gather troops is not surprising; what’s surprising is that you were playing as a weak hero with no magic or money and weren’t ready to fight on week 3.

We got sidetracked discussing the reasons for my loss.
I just commented on your post about Letos – "it turns out to be a linear game with no way to quickly reach the opponent."
That is, the logic is unclear – it's not possible to get there quickly, and that's bad. And at the same time, it is possible – which means the pattern is straightforward.
I won't vehemently defend Letos – I just want to understand the arguments "against" it.
