No, it doesn't bother me that much.

Man, I can't help but comment on the topic of education, starting from page 2. There are indeed many unnecessary subjects in school that aren't useful in life, but we can't create highly specialized schools. For example, if someone wants to become a physicist, they should learn the basics of physics in school. A biologist doesn't need that, but since we have one school for both physicists and biologists, and many don't even decide on their future until 11th grade... But there are also completely ridiculous subjects, like the computer science we had. Half a year of Word, half a year of Excel – that's still understandable, as everyone knows how to use them anyway. But then came the weird stuff that turned into logic in college. Question: The wife cooked borscht for her husband. He didn't eat it. Express this in formulas. Although on tests, some wrote: the borscht was cold, the husband remained hungry, let him eat what he's given, etc. :D :smile26: And this is a very easy example. And the same goes for Life Safety, which turned into Safety of Life.
Regarding the personality of the teachers: yes, there are some jerks, but not that often. More often, students don't understand the subject and blame the teacher. After graduating from school, I had a few unpleasant impressions of two teachers and a few pleasant ones of three; I have a neutral attitude towards the rest.

But for me, for example, truly unnecessary subjects really spoil my life. For instance, Basic Military Training (BMT, officially), WHY?
It's a stupid question... but why??? Am I going to serve in the army? Why do I need to learn how to lie in a trench and crawl on my belly... and it's not just for boys either. And we are forced to do it. If someone says that ALL subjects are useful... then... excuse me. Such people need to be isolated from society.
And algebra is not useful to me. At least because I don't understand it, and I won't understand it. A delicate, creative soul of an artist and writer cannot comprehend these crude mathematical formulas. I would rather study literature...

Algebra is actually very useful, and everyone needs it. It is one of the most useful subjects in school, if not the most useful (along with language). It teaches you to think, and, most importantly, it is difficult to spoil it with a bad list of works, as is the case with literature, or with interpretations that cater to the current regime, as is the case with history. You are going to become a veterinarian, but how will you study and pass chemistry without algebra and accurate calculations (and it will also affect you in university)?
Of course, algebra is not interesting to everyone, but problems in mastering it within the school curriculum can arise only in three cases:
1. The person is completely lazy and does not try to understand anything.
2. The person experiences a strong aversion to the subject (most often due to the (self-)belief that their "delicate, creative soul of an artist and writer cannot grasp these crude mathematical formulas," which is related to previous failures. Sometimes the teachers are to blame. But the essence is the same: the person is lazy and makes excuses).
3. The person is an idiot.
However, the above applies to all subjects. There is NOTHING difficult in the school curriculum. If you have other interests, get your legitimate 3-4 (grades) and don't pay attention to them. Grades are definitely not the most important thing.

we are all lazy)) we just replace the word "I don't want to" with "I don't need it"... I also considered myself a creative person and hated exact sciences. Then I failed the entrance exams for journalism, and my parents forced me to go to a technical college. And there, no one asked if I wanted to or not. Don't know how to calculate parabolic integrals? Nobody cares... and the prospect is this: if I get kicked out of college, I'll be stuck in a low-paying, unfulfilling job for the rest of my life (the town where I studied was small and there were no prospects). I managed to do it - I had to start everything from scratch... Moreover, as I studied, I began to enjoy technical subjects because I understood them... I am actually grateful to fate that everything turned

In school, all subjects were necessary and interesting. Teachers are rarely to blame for anything (except in extreme cases); rather, the students are the ones who are awful.:smile12:

I find it hard to understand such an approach: "Here's a formula, and like a sheep, follow it exactly, don't deviate, only follow the rule... and only use precise numbers." Personally, this bothers me. In geometry and physics, there are also rules and formulas, but there's room for thought. In algebra, however, one step off, and everything is wrong.

Yes? IMHO, geometry is hundreds of times more difficult... because of fractions. Vsadnitsa, regarding the formulas, you are wrong. The same quadratic equation can be solved using a formula, simply memorized, but there are about 10 other options as well. And personally, THIS topic is starting to bother me!
