Posts from HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
I agree with rebellious: when it's unclear where the area with the Grail is located, I often try to overlay the puzzle map onto the real terrain; however, I have an older version of the mod, and in it, the scales of these images match. In the worst case, I'll have to take screenshots and work with them in a graphics editor - not a very pleasant alternative. :smile21:
Воскресайте, камінні душі, Розчиняйте серця і чоло, Щоб не сказали Про вас грядущі: їх на землі не було… (Василь Симоненко. Люди – прекрасні)
Hello everyone.
First of all, thank you to the developers for creating such a wonderful mod. Many interesting and enjoyable things have been added and improved. Especially the list of map templates. Finally, now you can immediately load the map that you are interested in, and not start over and over again until the desired template is randomly selected.
However, there is a question: is there a True Random template, which is included in the mod, for 4 or more players?
rebelliousThe Grail map revealed in-game is not scaled. Therefore, it cannot be "overlaid" onto the terrain map to match a real area of the land. In general, it's misleading. That is, the puzzle image should be presented in the same scale as the map.MarmotI agree with rebellious: when it's unclear where the required Grail area is located, I also often try to overlay the puzzle map onto the actual terrain; however, I have an old version of the mod, and in that one, the scales of these images match. In the worst case, you'll have to take screenshots and mess around with them in a graphics editor — not a very pleasant alternative. :smile21: What are you talking about? The scale of the puzzle map is 1:1 with the adventure map and has always been so since version - minus one . pre pre pre ... pre alpha but the piece is shown as 19x17, just like in the original. Select "show Dimension Door boundaries" in the quick menu and you can match the puzzle with the adventure map (and if you select "show grid," doing so becomes even easier).
Or do you want the puzzle map to show a piece of the same size as on the adventure map? I will never do that, because the larger the selected resolution, the easier it will be to identify the area. Select 4000x4000 (which is possible on any monitor in stretchable modes) and the entire map fits on the screen, so there's nothing left to search for.
Found a rather interesting bug (it's hard to call it a feature). Having the Earth Magic skill but not having the Earth Magic book, I couldn't cast "Oil." Although other travel spells and the like are cast normally. And the very definition of the Earth Magic skill sounds like this:
Earth Magic Book The book contains all spells of the Earth Magic school.
Please look into this issue and fix it. Also, I would like to see a darkened book icon in battle if there is no Earth Magic book. Because if there is even one scroll, the book is active, although you still can't cast anything. Or should it be possible to cast spells from scrolls without a book?
Also, please fix the spell activation for units that are immune to it. In particular, Berserk on skeletons without the black orb doesn't work, although the spell is active when you hover over it.

Hello everyone. First of all, thank you to the developers for such a wonderful mod. Many interesting and pleasant things have been added and improved. Especially the list of map templates. Finally, now you can immediately load the map that is interesting, and not start many times until the desired template is randomly generated.
However, there is a question: is there a True Random template, which is included in the mod, for 4 or more players?

Well, it has always been this way. The same applies to scrolls. In the early versions of the game, it was possible to cast combat spells without a spellbook, but this was fixed. In Heroes of Might and Magic V, they changed it so that utility spells also cannot be cast without a spellbook.

And everything is fine with Berserk; its application is easily determined. But if you miss it and fail to activate it when you have the same Courage icon, then you are just a mean little creature.
Added 7 minutes later [/U] This template is designed for 2 players. [/QUOTE] I understand that this template is for 2 players and it is quite interesting and complex. Do you have a similar template for 4 players? Or can it be adapted for 4 players? What I liked about this template is that it has some random elements, but there are fewer of them compared to other templates like 2SM4d and so on...
I understand that this template is for 2 players and it is quite interesting and complex in its own way. Is there a similar template for 4 players? Or can it be adapted for 4 players? What I liked about this template is that it has elements of randomness, but there are few of them compared to other templates like 2SM4d and so on...
Every template has elements of randomness; that's what makes them templates. In my opinion, the greatest randomness is achieved in templates with compasses. True Random was specifically prepared for the First Snow tournament. It won't take long to adapt it for 4 players, but I don't see much point in doing so.

Thank you, we'll think about how to adapt it for 4 players. We just want to play with 4 friends (2 vs. 2), so we're looking for a more or less interesting template for 4 players.

Just take any template with computer opponents and play together, or here are some other templates from this Tournaments: Teamwork 2x2

Thank you. We will try it out :)

Yesterday and today I played on the Jebus Cross, boombox (L-U), teamwork (L-U) and deux paires templates. To be honest, these templates are weak compared to True Random, which I mentioned earlier. The abundance of resources on the map makes the game uninteresting even at 200%. And monsters constantly stand away from resources and passages. Maybe I am biased towards the above templates, but what attracted me to True Random was the moderate amount of resources on the map, as well as the reasonably and sufficiently well-thought-out complexity not only of economic development (even at 160%), but also of the strength of monsters as you progress towards the Treasure. And, of course, the Treasure itself, which is not so easy to clear even in the first week of the second month. But unfortunately, True Random is designed for two players. In this regard, maybe you can suggest where I can find a similarly interesting template but for four players? :) Or where can I read instructions on how to adjust the conditions and values of the template? :smile13:
And of course, the Treasure itself, which isn't that easy to clear even on the first week of the 2nd month.
Guys, are you serious? What second month? Especially 2x2. In 2x2, people are running around with 13 archangels on level 115, and you're talking about the 2nd month. Or do you just want to skip turns? Take Jebus, set the Guardian of Order to 150k, and run around the map for a month.
Guys, are you serious? What do you mean, "second month"? Especially in a 2x2 game. In 2x2, people are running around with 13 Archons at level 115, and you're talking about the second month. Or do you just want to skip turns? Take Jebus, build a Grand Order at 150k, and run around the map for a month.
I apologize for the stupid question, but what does 115 mean? Or 113, which I've seen here and there? I understand it's game time, but how much is that (115): less than the first week of the second month, or more?
And, accordingly, if it's less, I'm interested in who and how collects 13 Archons. By the way, even in the most ideal scenario, when there's a ton of gold and resources on the map, and you only develop the army from the very beginning of the game (ignoring the economy altogether!), you can't collect more than 9 Archons. Unless you also open 5 "Caches." Then there might be even more than 13. But will they be on the map? And if not? So it depends on luck in the game.

Galeaf, try playing a 4-player HL+U map...
We would gladly play such a map, but where would we get so much time? It takes at least 10 hours to play, if not more. But we'll try sometime. It's just that 1-on-1 is no longer interesting to play, and 2x2 is a completely different tactic, even a different strategy.
