Turns out I was right! :D Now they've officially announced the same thing.

Now it's clear who jinxed it! Well, I hope they don't drag this out for too long... At least they could release a generator instead... oh well, what a pity.

Yes, I'll get bored without a map generator, although I can easily manage until the first patch (if there's a decent number of maps).

I think the game lacks a few types of terrain: snow, swamps, etc. Therefore, they will appear in the expansion pack, and a certain castle will be tied to each terrain, for example, snow-mountains-dwarves, swamp-creatures like in X3, steppe-orcs. Orcs will definitely be included because they are in Dark Messiah but not in Heroes, which is strange. It seems the plot will be about the confrontation between dwarves and orcs.

It’s interesting to know how many new cities will be added to the game. There are four potential candidates: Orcs, Gnomes, Swamp Creatures, and Elementals. For some reason, I think the last ones will be left out, as they look quite strange. They put Hydras in the Dungeon, and a swamp without Hydras is… So, it seems that it will be Orcs and Gnomes (or one of them).

Add-ons will definitely be included. I haven't seen a single successful game without add-ons, and Heroes 5 is no exception. By the way, regarding the map editor, it should be in a free patch, not an add-on. And an add-on is just another space for creativity. P.S. Moreover, I suggest creating a fan-made add-on. I think this portal is large enough, and if we gather people and offer it to Nival, I think they won't refuse.

I support the idea and suggest creating a thread dedicated to this patch. In it, we can objectively note the shortcomings and offer well-reasoned suggestions for improving the game. Of course, these solutions should be based on extensive gaming experience; I think Nival already has plenty of quick fixes, but providing them with well-argued conclusions would be helpful.
Also, I think it would be worth separating the patch into offline and online versions. After all, the balance in a game between player and player and player and computer are different things.

Yes, of course, there will be expansions; there are many reasons for this: 1) All parts of the Heroes series had expansions (I think only the first one didn't, but we won't count it; it was a long time ago, and the concept of an expansion didn't exist back then). 2) Not enough! Not enough! Not enough! There's not enough of everything: castles (where are the classic barbarians?! Where are the orcs, I ask you?! They were in all the previous games, and suddenly, they're gone), heroes, spells, campaigns, and so on. I think the respected Nival developers understand this. 3) It's a great way to milk the same cow again (and again, and again...) (remember the third game and the number of expansions for it...). I'm not judging this, and I don't think anyone will judge it; people will pay, pay, and pay, as long as the quality of the product doesn't suffer and something new is added. You could list many more reasons, and the contest for a new race on the Nival website already suggests that an expansion will be released. Maybe just one, but it will be there, and let it be as good as LoD was for Diablo II or FT was for Warcraft III, or at least as good as the expansions for the third game (but then there should be as many of them:D)...

They definitely won't make another Chronicles game. The fifth game is selling well, and Nival isn't falling apart:)
