You know, same-sex love has always existed, and in general, these are unhappy, "sick" people who are not fully accepted by society and will never be accepted:smile32:.

Something is unclear. What does "was normal...." mean? There are cases where a person is homosexual but doesn't want to admit it to themselves. They stubbornly try to "be normal," might even get married... but sooner or later they get fed up with it. One can sleep with a wife and even have children (like Oscar Wilde, for example — he had two sons), but a person of "alternative orientation" will not be truly happy with her. And if they realize what they are actually drawn to and "go gay," from the outside it will look like a change of orientation, a leap of an idiot's imagination. In reality, it is simply the definition of one's orientation, not a change.
Another matter is if a person, figuratively speaking, watched too much Borya Moiseyev and decided: "Oh, how cool it is to be gay! These aren't "real" homosexuals at all. And the fight shouldn't be against them, but against those who propagate same-sex love as a sign of special refinement... nonsense; among great scientists, writers, artists, and composers, there were both homosexuals and heterosexuals.

I would say they don't need help, but rather not to be hindered... Treat them the same as, say, redheads: hair color says NOTHING about what a person is as a personality, and orientation is the same.
