New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
The essence of the topic is much deeper than just one game. As I understand it, there are 3 questions on the agenda.
1. What to do in such situations? The rules don't provide for this, but they should.
2. Is Mizrael an authority as a member of the AK?
3. What is game ethics, and what does it entail?
1.6. Players are advised to agree in advance on how long they can play without interruption, and if there is not enough time and the need to postpone the game, agree on the terms for completing it.
1 month is given to complete the game. If the game is not completed within this time, the players have the right to contact the tournament judge, providing saves of the postponed game and ICQ logs. Each such case is considered individually. The judge acts at his discretion: either a technical victory is awarded (if one of the players ignores offers to complete the game), or a decision is made based on the saves (if the players have mutual problems), or the game is canceled, or another decision is made depending on the circumstances. Players who systematically fail to complete postponed games may be subject to sanctions, up to and including exclusion from the tournament and being placed on the Blacklist.
I have already used this rule, by the way.
However, Mizrael is listed as one of the judges for the season, and in this situation, his judging perspective on the situation seems particularly interesting. If the position stated above ("you lost the game because you played worse") is the judge's position, then what kind of judge is that?
Once again, kudos to Toganash. The guy is proving to be a truly level-headed person and capable of expressing his thoughts clearly. Mizrael, with his registration dating back to 2008, is spouting some childish, noobish nonsense, like "you were lucky I didn't focus, but you played worse." And he says it completely seriously. And he's still talking about some kind of ethics. It would have been ethical to say, "I didn't play very well (I'm tired), I don't see any point in continuing, I'll write a report." That's all.
Honestly, I don't understand what such a person is doing as a judge.
And the fact that it was made public, as far as I understand, it was all the same as in the stream. And there's nothing super-secret or personal here. The question is about trust in the person as a judge.
Toganash, let's say you're a judge, and you receive a complaint like this (regarding your game and subsequent correspondence in ICQ) – what decision would you make?
Minus for Toganash for removing the private game, and without any reason.
Mizra is strange. If he's willing to take the risk to go to bed earlier, then he should be prepared to write "gg" (good game). It's clear that in an important game, actions are different.
The topic is made up out of thin air, minus for Toganash for removing the game.
I understand tournaments, but in a fun game, torturing yourself and your opponent is wrong. If someone hasn't understood this, then my condolences.
