Where can resentment come from if you play poorly yourself? If you can't win, and then get upset that others gave you an undesirable result, then you should only be upset with yourself! IMHO.
P.S.: It seems to me, or does it actually read: "if you play poorly, then you a priori have fewer rights here"?
I completely agree with what Toganash wrote. And I already expressed my opinion here earlier that arranging such draws in these tournaments is the height of disrespect. In general, all three of them turned out to be somewhat disappointing (this is my personal opinion), even Vitaly, to whom I am generally well-disposed and have known for a long time on this forum. There were also problems with LeBron, whom I trusted and took in KotH – he simply disappeared, without even notifying anyone, although he had such opportunities and had confirmed in advance that he could play (why? it’s unclear), so I had to put in a technical default (there were two of them in total during the year). Darkello also appeared here with his handmade save file replacement. :)
Here, you see, people are just as they are. A normal, honest player would not do such a thing. It’s a pity that there are so few of them.
Well, as for the fact that this is resolved in a private agreement. Not quite. Everything is decided on the forum, in an open discussion. Of course, the final decision is made one way or another by the organizer with the judges / arbitration committee.
And I would like The_ to express his position more openly as an organizer. Although this is his first major tournament, experience will come with time.
P.S. As a form of advertisement – Namwan and I had a real battle, although we could have arranged a couple of draws and everything would have been fine. Honor to us and praise!)

Yeah. We have a similar situation. Right now, I have 3 points, and my last game is against Vinseras. He currently has 1 point and 2 games left - against me and Ze. So, if he wins against both of us, he'll come in second based on the Berger coefficient. If we draw with you, even in a normal game (for example, in our second game, after I took the castle and the chances almost evened out), I would 100% come in second. But, in my opinion, it's wrong to do that when you're taking away the chance for other players in the group to advance.
That's the impression I have.
P.S.: Now that I've calmed down a bit. Sorry, I didn't want to spoil anyone's mood; it even dampened my own spirits.
It would have been better if they had faked the saves, arranged a draw, and written a report. But as it is, everything turned out to be too cynical and cruel towards Toganash. And now there's a lot of outrage and investigations.
No, that's not the case. One thing is not understanding and doing something, and another is understanding and doing it anyway. The first case deserves leniency and a lesson, unlike the second, where only punishment should be applied. And as Gomunguls wrote, he simply doesn't understand that it's wrong to do things this way.
There's another option for the future: award 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, like in soccer. This would encourage players to play more aggressively for the win.
upd* The beat me to it))
in reality, this won't help.
P.S. I'm asking in advance not to ban me or give me negative marks in the future if I stream, cheat, and do all sorts of things; I'm just tactically smarter.
This kind of positioning makes it very difficult for new players to break into the group. Then what question can there be about competitiveness – there isn't any, and if there isn't, then it's no longer a sport. And why, interestingly, are fixed matches punished in almost all sports? Remember, for example, (I may not be accurate in the details) in a doubles tournament in tennis (it seems at the last summer Olympics), the Koreans were punished for losing to their opponents in order to get easier opponents. And everyone perceived this as disrespect to the opponents, the fans, and, above all, the spirit and idea of the sport.
I won't break down the post into quotes; I'll describe the situation from my perspective.
For clarity, I'll try to avoid preambles and introductions and describe a few facts that can be used to draw conclusions.
1. If we draw an analogy to chess, it is considered absolutely normal to offer a draw after the first move, and accepting such a draw is not considered something out of the ordinary. It is assumed that since this draw suits both opponents, they must have done the work that ensures the possibility and viability of this outcome.
For example, when I was 13, I went to a chess tournament in Kostroma to qualify for the next rank. I needed my two direct competitors in the last round to play to any result other than a draw – they agreed to a draw after the first move. Even then, I understood that it wasn't them being bad sports, but rather that I had put my fate in the hands of others, and they decided it not in my favor (which would have been strange), but turned it in their favor (which is logical). I think the moral is clear.
Or here's another example from recently: after three losses in one day (in the Champions League), I decided that I had no chance of qualifying. I won't say that I played the fifth game against Namvan half-heartedly – quite the opposite (I only tilted towards the end); I tried to win with all my might, but in the end, Namvan lost two games to the lawyer, and if I had won then, I would still have had a chance to compete for a place in the group. Again, who is to blame for my decision that the fight was over for me? Probably the unscrupulous lawyer who didn't beat Namvan before our game against him.
2. First of all, you need to look at the situation from your own side. If you win against everyone, are you not ready to win? Isn't that motivation enough? And who cares if all the matches between them end in a draw. You yourself write that you played the first two games half-heartedly; who is to blame for that? And now, after winning against LeBron, which you didn't seem to believe you could do, you suddenly realized that you were deceived and deprived of motivation.
3. The fact that you tried to play the games as quickly as possible is great, in my opinion, but if you think that you miscalculated tactically and that you now need to solve strategic problems not only within the game but also outside of it, then that's up to each individual – there is no single moral code, and you can't fit it into the regulations.
4. The fact that the draws were presented to me in this way was definitely not pleasing. I don't know what mood everyone was in when these messages were written and why they were in such a hurry, but the fact remains that everything was handled very incorrectly (in my opinion).
5. On the other hand, I perfectly understand that nothing prevents them from playing a couple of days (or weeks) and agreeing to a draw; the result would be the same. The only difference from this situation is that it would be like the result of a Denmark-Sweden match: it's as if the result is clear, but it can't be achieved immediately, so they have to go out on the field to play. Here, people openly wrote that they agree to a draw, without any additional schemes.
Conclusion: I don't approve of the fact, but there is nothing to punish them for. It is absolutely legal for anyone to agree to a draw (or a technical result, whatever you want to call it), whether it's 225 or 111 – there is no difference. I understand that it's unpleasant, but first of all, you need to look for the reasons for failure in yourself, and not complain about the careless opponents and organizers who allow such "arbitrariness."
P.S. Most likely, in the next Champions League, 3 points will be awarded for a win and 1 for a draw, like in football. But that's for the next one. You can't find and eliminate all the rough edges at once.
Everything said is correct. But as an organizer, you need to maintain a consistent line. If you have written "there will be no meaningless matches, starting from the qualification and ending with the final, and every victory in any match will be worth more than ten," then at least you should have asked them to play their games, just as a human being. I think everyone would have understood. Besides, there is still plenty of time.
Yes, I agree, I guess I'm a noob and lack experience. I'll be smarter in the future, maybe I'll even learn how to cheat. After all, it's not my fault that my opponent doesn't know how to cheat; he's just a fool for not knowing. It would be logical if football clubs went onto the field and then said, "Nah, let's just decide it now, why bother for 45 minutes?"
P.S. I ask in advance not to ban me or give me black marks in the future if I stream, cheat, and all that; I'm just tactically smarter.
Oh, come on, most of the players here are honest.
P.S.: I no longer see the point in playing matches quickly just to be told later, "great," but I'm still a loser.
P.S.: Am I wrong, or does it actually read: "if you play poorly, you automatically have fewer rights here"?
This is just my personal opinion, not an official one.
So, you admit that you are also one of the fins of this rotten fish?
And also, for the even smarter ones, before accepting the draw, I informed the organizer that this was wrong, that there were fixed matches in the group stage (you can simply eliminate draws in the group stage!). The approximate response to this was that they have the right!
P.S. Dirty and Zee are wrong!
What is this nonsense with 1 point and 3 points?! Here, it's the same: 0.5 and 1 for a draw and a win, respectively, just different indicators! To avoid such situations, you need to do what I suggested to you, Mr. THe_, 2 weeks ago: simply prohibit draws in the group stage, and in the playoffs, no one will go for a draw, at least not just like that!
So, I understand that draws are counted?!
лето 2012.
Skill has nothing to do with it. I've been in similar situations many times in chess tournaments. It's considered normal there, especially in the later rounds. And I didn't have any resentment towards anyone, except myself, for not playing well enough.
This is just my personal opinion, not an official one.
