The torrent might contain a buggy version of the game; I recommend trying the licensed version. The issue is most likely due to this.

Question: How can the AI's use of spells and creature abilities affect game crashes? I've just created a mod that adds spells and modifies some abilities (and also slightly adjusted some stat points), but I've noticed that the AI sometimes moves creatures normally, while in other places (including random ones), it constantly crashes the game! Moreover, if you remove the unit that causes the crash, everything works fine, and the rest function normally.

The use of certain spells by a hero or computer-controlled creatures can lead to crashes; this is a known fact. Nargott is well-versed in this: for example, he once gave gremlins the "fire trap" spell, which caused the game to crash automatically. Apparently, the AI simply doesn't know how to use some spells.

At the very least, it should be able to use Raise Dead! After all, there are Greater Liches... And Armageddon also seems to be usable: I think someone made neutral creatures that used it, maybe even the Dervish. I don't know about Resurrection, but Archangels have an alternative and they use it confidently...
