After all, tons of schools participated, and I know that students from those schools knew Russian better than we did (I had even studied in some of them before)! Personally, I still don't know where to put which punctuation marks. There was also a moment when they wanted to take me to the physics olympiad, but I simply didn't show up that day because I don't really get physics (though for some reason the teachers thought—just like with Russian—that I did). They even gave me a certificate later, stating that I have a particularly good knowledge of Russian and physics. Now that's a joke!

I participated in the "Lomonosov" math competition last year (though we stormed in there as a crowd of 7 people, sat together and solved everything together :D One guy started fooling around - he got kicked out...). Then we went to a math regatta... But we also had a lot of fun - we sat there and organized Tournaments in dots :rolleyes: As a result, out of 100 possible points, I think I got 1 (!) for the last problem of the last round :D and that was it... We were in second-to-last place)) Though we sat there covering up our school number so no one could see... Since my acquaintances from other schools were there... :rolleyes: And then, while waiting for the results, we wrote a whole list of reasons that prevented us from solving the problems... I remember that "poor environment," "too bright spring sun," and so on were on that list. Oh, how dissatisfied our math teacher who took us there was with us... :smile10:

I don't like olympiads – my school life is already too busy. But I always participate in English language olympiads (firstly, for the certificate required for university admission, proving a high level of language proficiency (in grades 9-11), and secondly, for self-assessment). Our school olympiads are conducted as City & Guilds tests, so I participate with pleasure (to avoid any misunderstanding, the City & Guilds center issues international certificates).
