I remember going from our school to the district Russian language olympiad. There were only four of us. Since the school was for slackers, they chose those who could write the word "cow" without a mistake :) meaning, us. Moreover, I know that in other schools, teachers prepare students for olympiads, want them to win in every way, and encourage them. But with us, nobody cared—neither the teachers nor we did. In the end, we wrote some stuff there. And it was a surprise to me how we managed to take 4th place. After all, tons of schools participated, and I know that students from those schools knew Russian better than we did (I had even studied in some of them before)! Personally, I still don't know where to put which punctuation marks. There was also a moment when they wanted to take me to the physics olympiad, but I simply didn't show up that day because I don't really get physics (though for some reason the teachers thought—just like with Russian—that I did). They even gave me a certificate later, stating that I have a particularly good knowledge of Russian and physics. Now that's a joke!
