But now I would like to ask the following questions.
Why do we play? I, for example, primarily play to get emotions, to be happy or, conversely, to get angry when something goes wrong at the most inappropriate moment; without this, the enjoyment of the game is already reduced.
That is why TE/VT removed as many of these factors as possible. The pinnacle of this is mirrored maps - external factors are equalized, and only the actions of the players remain. The only randomness is the heroes in the tavern; ideally, they would be equalized as well, but they couldn't figure out how to do this without harming the gameplay. Another random factor is the abundance of treasures, or rather, the guessing game of choosing a direction, but this is still a player-dependent factor, even if it's based on intuition rather than conscious decisions.
Earlier in the topic, there were phrases like "VT players don't like to lose according to the map layout," and this is true. Moreover, winning according to the map layout is not very enjoyable either. Because for an athlete, victory is a reward for his efforts, for his skill, for the time spent in training. This is well felt in post-match interviews with athletes from ordinary sports - random victories usually do not cause emotions; they simply state that they were lucky to win, the score does not reflect the game, etc.
5) they removed all unnecessary artifacts and buildings, changed the balance of spells, why? to make it more convenient?
If mirrored maps were initially included in the concept of TE/VT, then fewer balancing changes could have been made; the layout is still the same.
But since mirrored maps were not even in the project at the time of TE's development, an attempt was made to balance the gameplay on initially unbalanced maps. And for this, yes, it was necessary to change the balance of a number of random factors (starting army, spells in the guild, artifacts, skills, etc.).
Now, the SoD players are complaining that Baratorch should make changes to the guild and get rid of one-sided maps. TE/VT was created with a similar logic; they just went further and deeper.
So, it turns out that you can sit and micro-manage the neutral units with one hand during a battle, while drinking beer and eating popcorn with the other? And is this related to the image of a "pro" as a person who is not lying in front of the TV with a bottle of beer, but rather someone who is clicking the mouse on the screen?
I don't believe in HotA at all right now.
1). There's no community.
2). There's a new castle, which means the changes will be even more significant. In HotA, at least, they didn't touch the parameters of the creatures. So, the SoD players won't like this at all.
As a newcomer, I've been exploring your old articles about the game, and it's very interesting and captivating. Thank you very much. My question to you is this: don't you think that the element of luck should be present in the game? Why are you avoiding it? After all, in any sport, in any endeavor, luck should play a role, the question is what percentage it should be. But simply mashing buttons like a zombie is also not the way to go. When you know where and into which cell a unit will move, and also consider the "slowpoke" idea (which may have occurred to others before), what is this monotony of attack, defense, earth, logistics, tactics, air? Perhaps this is something that needs to be worked on and addressed... and then morale and other factors will take a backseat.

3 Conclusion.
After all, SoD, with all its imbalances and unnecessary things, was intended to be exactly that way, and that is precisely why it captured the attention of such an audience. And now you are sitting here proving to each other who is better and who isn't, but in my opinion, the game is made for relaxing, while the competitive element is necessary for the development of both the game itself and the skill of each individual player. Many come here, some leave, of course, but still, a game should be a game) and not a set of template, calculated battles. Thanks for your attention.
So what's the problem then? Well, play SoD. For extra certainty, do it without the HD mod, placing units one by one by hand for half an hour. It will be a real casual experience, something like Counter-Strike. But certainly not chess, which Heroes is often compared to. We simply have different perceptions of the game. This will come to you with experience.
well and play chess then, I just play when I have time, playing with the HD mod is very convenient because it simplifies specifically the controls and doesn't affect the gameplay) and Heroes will never become chess, nor chess become Heroes; generally, I think it's pointless to argue who's cooler here, because SoD and VotG are only united by units, landscapes, and hero names, the games are completely different in style
when there are professional tournaments for Heroes with press and other bells and whistles, then we can compare them to chess and sports in general, but for now it's all just for fun)

I didn't get an answer about the "other monastery"... if you want to chat using profanity, then...

In the 7th month, I'm building a Capitol, then I buy 2 heroes, and I play on foot soldiers, and the AI wins 2 out of 2 games. Oh, and I'm also using cheat codes.

When there's nothing to say on the topic, it starts turning into personal attacks. "Who are you?" "And who are you?" It's like in school.

Dear VIK has already replied on the topic about 15 times. I don't want to keep saying the same thing over and over. Good luck with your streams.
