Watched Fast & Furious 6, and read in the news that it's a shame Paul Walker died in a car accident, may he rest in peace.

Yesterday, I went to see "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." So, here's my opinion. The film is complete garbage; it left no positive feelings or impressions. First, they didn't kill a single dwarf, as I expected. Again, they all run away from orcs, whom they could kill in droves without any harm to themselves. There's not a drop of realism. Computer-generated tricks, faces spewing saliva – basically, it's all for children and fanboys who are obsessed with elves. This was annoying, is annoying, and will continue to be annoying. The dragon is absolutely uninspiring. Overpowered dwarves, elves, and humans, the absence of casualties among the civilian population, the idiotic love of a dwarf for an elf. The result: 2 out of 10, don't go to this movie unless you're 5 years old, a fanboy, or have regressed into childhood. The most interesting thing is that, apparently, a sequel is also expected. But I've had enough of what I've seen; perhaps next time, I'll just buy some beer with that money.

Can anyone tell me where Tolkien mentions, in The Hobbit, the idiotic, or any other kind of love, of a gnome for an elf? Where does he even write about the character Tauriel?
And that's sad. The Lord of the Rings gained its widespread popularity through its respectful treatment of the original text of a classic.
Now it's all becoming pop culture, like Vikings versus aliens.
I won't go; the first film was enough for me.

Well, they could have added something of their own, but not a love story between a dwarf and an elf that they couldn't even develop properly. It's not even Tolkien style.

Or maybe they just wanted to make the movie three hours long instead of two, I don't know...

There is a third part for development.
Overall, it's not worse than the first part; it also has some amusing moments and even more stunts, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for this movie. This is pretty much what an adventure film should be like. Perhaps something is missing, or some moments should have been cut or reworked.
Again, returning to the strange couple's love, in reality, there are many people who would not mind being in the place of the elf or dwarf in this case, haha.

I want to start watching your Doctor Who series, and if anything, tell me if the series/film is good.

Just don't start watching from the first episode of the first season, like I did. After such nonsense, you lose all desire to continue watching. I think it's better to start with some other season (let Kosh say which one).

And as for me, Santa Barbara once granted me lifelong immunity to soap operas.
