In this thread, we collect information about all sorts of bugs, errors, and crashes related to the HoMM3 HD mod, as well as the original game.
When a critical error occurs in the game, a text file is generated with information about the error and the information needed for debugging. If you are unlucky enough to encounter a critical error, please send the HD_CRASH_LOG.TXT file (located in the game folder) to the email address: baratorch@yandex.ru, or post it here on the website. This will greatly help in fixing the error in future releases of HoMM3 HD.

If you are interested in fixing bugs, please provide detailed instructions (a sequence of actions) so that I can reproduce the bug. General statements, such as "there is a very bad bug," are of no use. If the bug cannot be consistently reproduced with the same sequence of actions, it is extremely difficult to fix; however, the more detailed the description of the situation in which it occurs, and the more information about what preceded it, the better.
Also, to fix the error more effectively, a save file may be needed, which you can attach to your message as a zip file.
I've encountered this issue several times: we start a game, the data transfer begins, and when both players have loaded, the game unexpectedly exits back to the main menu, often without allowing me to save. This causes unnecessary problems and suspicions.

1. I don't know how it is in the castle, but when a computer attacks you in an open field, and the auto-battle checkbox is enabled, it no longer allows you to win the battle; you have to ask for auto-battle ((( or just remember to uncheck the auto-battle checkbox when passing the turn :).
2. It's time to finally make daily saves active by default after updates! Yes, changing zero to one in the settings is also an option))) but sometimes you forget, especially when you update right before playing :(

As far as I've noticed, this happens if, for example, you press the button to exit to the main menu, but at that moment, the connection with your opponent is interrupted, or they exit, and you are automatically kicked back to the main menu. In this way, the game somehow remembers your last unfinished action, i.e., it is considered unfinished because you were kicked back to the main menu due to the disconnection, and not voluntarily, and then it completes your action, i.e., it takes you to the main menu when starting a new game. To prevent this from happening, I usually load a single-player game and only then join the multiplayer.

Indeed, this seems to have happened when the opponent, for example, took a restart and exited while I was clicking on the menu. Thank you. I'll wait for the opponent to be available. :)

Currently, there's a trend where, after an auto-battle against neutral creatures, there's a button to replay the battle manually. However, if the auto-battle is against a computer-controlled player, this button is missing. Is this a bug, or is it intentional?
I encountered a problem. All the save files that I manually named have disappeared from the game folder. Has anyone else experienced this? There is enough space on the hard drive. (I noticed it quite by chance: at the beginning of the list was a save file with a specific name.) It seems very likely that they disappeared after updating the game version.
I keep forgetting to mention that in the Dungeon, when buying units without entering the Castle, but instead using the left mouse button + Ctrl in the lower left corner, clicking on a creature from the portal will purchase harpies. If there are no harpies, nothing will be purchased.
The save files were found. I launched the launcher without administrator privileges, and they appeared in the list of games. However, they are still not visible in the file list within the folder. Please explain to a newbie – is this normal?
Crash log after viewing the computer's turn (the AI was defeated during that turn). Sometimes it happens that a player joins the game while a new one is being created, but they are not visible (there is no standard message saying "Player has joined the game"), and messages either don't arrive or have an unclear delay even after troubleshooting. There was also a case where I couldn't join the game because of a firewall block (from the opponent's router). I didn't believe this could happen since the connection in the game worked without mods. So, it seems like another process is created, but it doesn't appear in the task manager, or somehow Heroes3.exe is modified? And again, an old bug appeared. In the picture for Luna, the secondary skill Luck is displayed, but the tooltip says Ballistics. And actually, it's Intelligence: D
