Posts from HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
Is it possible to launch the game in 864x664x16 (original resolution)? In 800x600, not all functionality works, and 1024x768 is too small, plus the battle window is tiny. And if I don't set it to 16 (original), then:
1) 16 (auto switch) - only windowed mode.
2) 32 GDI/True - also only windowed mode.
3) 32 MMX/True (stretchable) - only fullscreen mode, and it lags at all resolutions except the default (1920x1080), which is not just small, it's awful.

You can set any resolution manually in the Resolution field. The optimal minimum vertical resolution is 684 (if it's lower, the resource panel will be hidden during battles).
This has happened to us for the second time: there's an attempt to pass an artifact to an ally in a paired online game without using Ctrl (people simply forget that its use is mandatory), and the artifact disappears. After all, Ctrl is designed for exchanging items between your own heroes. But here... it's inconvenient and buggy.
There are actually several. Sometimes the timer runs during an attack on an opponent's city for the attacker. And the timer itself, after loading a save, starts counting down from the beginning, instead of taking into account the time spent before saving.
Perhaps the drop rate for neutral zones should be reduced? In every map I play, there are hordes of bandits, hobbits, trolls, and so on. There are really too many of them, more than there were before the ban. And it's completely unclear why this was done.

+1. Please make the probability of all zones appearing 10%, that would be logical and would satisfy everyone.
3.53 -> 3.54 (08/25/2013) [-] InterfaceExtensions bug: it was impossible for an allied hero to receive an artifact in the usual way. [-] TournamentExtensions bug: in a network game, when attacking a player's city without a hero, the game asked if a quick battle should be initiated. [-] HD+ bug: in a network game, when playing with a chess timer, when attacking a player's city without a hero, the timer did not stop.
Excellent! And how quickly! :) Thank you, baratorch! Also, when setting up alliances (in a 2v2 game) online, they often get messed up - one player ends up against three, or everyone is against everyone. You set up the alliances at the very last moment - and immediately the START button appears - this is the only way to get out of the situation. But even then, it sometimes gets messed up.

Maybe it just seemed that way after a temporary "lack of neutral creatures"? Well, and besides, you need to take into account which template is being used. I just can't figure out and compare how many there were before they were removed and how many there are now, because I haven't played much in the current period. But the fact that there have always been quite a few neutral creatures is true. Well, and what's wrong with the Wizard faction? Perhaps it's better to leave it as it was for now, otherwise we'll overdo it and forget the original ideas.
Added 12 minutes later I saw this in the options:
= 3
Although there is no such valid value. But it still works.
In the original game, the chance for a neutral zone is 25%, which is twice as low (if we don't take into account the fact that zones with cities cannot be neutral).

So what? What's the point if the game doesn't launch in 864x684x16 resolution (original)? The reasons are listed above. By the way, I noticed a bug: when playing with an ally, you can enter their castle, but you can't buy units there. In the HD mod, using the "buy all" button (click on the castle at the bottom), you can buy all the units in your ally's city during your turn, which, for example, can allow your ally to defend themselves with this out-of-turn purchase.
