Wristcutters: A Love Story
A romantic, quirky, and interesting film. Just what I was looking for. There are also plenty of funny moments. I've wanted to watch it for a while, but I kept putting it off, and I really shouldn't have. I liked it.

I watched the movie Treasure Island, which was released in 2012. In my opinion, everything was done well. The actors were well-chosen, they acted well, and the characters were developed sufficiently. Personally, many of them appealed to me, and even among the secondary characters, there are some likeable ones. And the film itself was well-shot, with interesting angles used, and there were no boring scenes that I wanted to skip.

Recently watched "Final Destination," all the "Resident Evil" movies, and both "Silent Hill" movies. The first one is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It has no outstanding plot, no atmosphere, and not even any impressive effects. A stupid and depressing film. 2/10 The first "Resident Evil" is a good thriller, atmospheric, and even a little scary. 9/10 The second part is more like an action movie, but it's still a good film, worth watching. 8/10 The third one is complete nonsense. Clones, pseudo-psychic stuff... 4/10 The fourth part is a decent continuation of the third, except they added gaudy and absurd monsters. 3/10 And finally, the fifth part. The only thing worth saying about it is that the film helped me realize that "Final Destination" isn't the worst and most nonsensical movie. 1/10 "Silent Hill" is a beautiful, dynamic, and scary film. 9/10 The second part is significantly worse than the first and is only weakly connected to it. 5/10.

I really liked the game; it's a very worthy film, unlike the modern garbage produced by Fincher.

I don't know how much "The Social Network" is more modern than "The Game," but I liked it. I also like "Zodiac."

Maybe it's because I watched it after the Swedish version. In short, the American version didn't work for me.

Watched "Sword Art Online."
I'll spoil a little (although the plot is clear from the title, I think):
Ten thousand fans of computer games, using the latest immersion equipment to enter virtual reality, find themselves trapped in the game – Sword Art Online, with no way to leave it. The death of a virtual game character means immediate death of the player in the real world; the only way to survive is to successfully complete all 100 levels of the game by at least one of the players.
Well, what can I say, it's captivating.
There's practically no cyberpunk; they mostly use swords. Although, it depends on what you consider cyberpunk. Menus, admin consoles, and other things are present in a subtle way.
Plus, the psychology of those trapped is shown. I think it's shown well.
I tried watching it in three different dubs, and I liked the OSLIKt dub the most.

I also watched "Sword Art Online". It has one season, but it's divided into two parts: the first game and the second. And the first part is more interesting; I liked it better.

So, "An Ordinary Miracle." Simply fantastic, with a plethora of brilliant actors, and more than half of the characters are wonderfully developed and evoke feelings of sympathy. For example: the wizard, his wife, the king, the princess, the Bear, the innkeeper, Emilia, the hunter, his apprentice, the first minister. Only Ostap Bender, the minister-administrator, doesn't evoke sympathy, but that's understandable; he's a very negative character, but even in his case, you can't apply silly formulas like "evil for the sake of evil," which are so often used, especially in fairy tales.
In short, it's 10/10. A rare score, but in this case, without hesitation.

"The Snow Queen" (2012, Russia). The fairy tale has been reinterpreted, and I liked the reinterpretation. Not that it's better or worse... It's just different, and it works. In this interpretation, the story has become even more touching and kind. [spoiler] And how could it not be! The main villain in the cartoon is defeated with hugs! [/spoiler] But there are also drawbacks: the cartoon looks chaotic, many details from the original fairy tale are missing, and some episodes are reduced to very short scenes (although it's good that the creators didn't decide to simply remove these episodes, as is often done). And even here, in some places, the authors managed to become innovators (the episode about the prince and princess). And yes, instead of philosophical details, humorous details have been added: it's not quite equivalent, but it's still nice. Overall, I would give it an 8.5/10.

Yesterday I decided to watch that particular episode of MythBusters. As a result, for some reason, I spent the evening watching the series "MacGyver" — about a secret agent technomaniac who solves his problems roughly the same way as the guys from Discovery's "Junkyard" - inventing jet engines and other nonsense on the fly from scrap materials )) I checked out a couple of episodes, liked it, even if it's naive in places (but that's just the genre). I'll keep watching.
After all, movies about secret agents are more interesting to watch than a pure show for techno-maniacs )) It' same a shame there isn't a remake of it.

"Inception" (2010) with DiCaprio Science fiction about lucid dreaming. It's an easy-to-watch, intelligent, and visually appealing film. There’s a bit of action, some shooting, and a little mind-bending exploration of the unreality of the surrounding world and the idea that “a wise man dreamed he was a butterfly…” – basically, everyone knows what it's about. And here's a bonus:

"Despicable Me 2" is a great movie with a lot of humor. It's unclear why it's rated 0+, as there's a lot of violence against the minions and the blonde women in the film. 8.5 out of 10
"Don Quixote Returns" (Russia-Bulgaria, 1997) – Don Quixote in the role of Livanov is something special. And Dzhigarkhanyan as Sancho Panza is also excellent. The film flows easily, Don Quixote's madness evokes not only laughter but also some respect... After all, Livanov's speeches sound so noble! It's sad that many things were altered, and many things were left out. Well, we can also understand them; the format of a full-length film requires it, but still, it would have been better to leave a couple of moments closer to the book. 8/10

"A tall blonde in a black boot" – Pierre Richard as a good-for-nothing, accidentally chosen as a pseudo-spy for some intelligence agency shenanigans. The entire film is filled with a huge number of hilarious coincidences, and the acting is remarkable. Minus: well, there's some crude humor... 8/10 "The Return of the Tall Blonde" – the intrigues have reached a new level, and the blonde can no longer remain ignorant... However, the second part of the film is still funny, and I also really liked the ending, because evil will no longer go unpunished, but this won't spoil the positivity at all! 8.5/10

I've watched Despicable Me 1 a million times. And Assassin's Creed: Embers.

Stalingrad. I liked it immensely! I expected something awful, like Alexander Anesyan's "Bastards," which was also heavily advertised for a long time. But instead, I saw an excellent film about a terrible war. Fyodor Bondarchuk made his best film, which will deservedly win many awards and become the film of the year in Russia. There are some flaws, such as the incomprehensible German soldier walking by a house filled with Russian soldiers, many of whom have lost everything, to get water. The astonishing resilience of the main characters is also unsettling; they are riddled with machine-gun fire, dragged for a long time to the German headquarters, and they don't bleed, but instead, they kill the main German there. This is not typical of a war drama but rather something from Hollywood. But these are minor things; the two-and-a-half-hour film flies by in an instant. The battle scenes are excellently filmed, the special effects are amazing, and the attack by our forces at the beginning of the film is worth seeing. The characters are well-developed, and the heroines are beautiful. Even the German officer is not a stereotypical fascist but a smart, experienced, and strong opponent. 9 out of 10, the best domestic film I've seen in recent years.
